The one that starts around :36 is wonderful.

I was at the rink once and some high school kids were doing that move. So I asked them to show me how and after only a few minutes of practice I learned that it’s fricking impossible.

I didn't know exactly where to put it, but that's a fun design exercise about what if NHL jerseys were soccer ones.

It's also dumb from a propaganda angle. Bring these (Bela)Russian kids over here. Let them see these images of what is being done to Ukrainian cities.

I know before every game, I have to make sure my cup is pushed into place. Never thought about using this approach.

Fedorov was my favorite non-Star for a long time. He was amazing.

https://awfulannouncing.com/athletic/ad ... letic.html
Here's my favorite note from an Adweek article linked in the comments on The Athletic:One of the biggest selling points of The Athletic after its launch was the lack of ads. The ad-free experience was a welcome change, given the amount of sites (sports, news, and everything else you can think of) that are flooded with obtrusive advertising.
Well, that’s gone now. On Sunday, The Athletic announced the launch of ads across its website and app. Publisher David Perpich announced the news, calling the new advertising “seamless” and also describing it as “a premium and relevant advertising experience.”
*f-bomb* you. I specifically enjoyed The Athletic in no small part because it was ad-free. Then the Time *poo poo* up my personal feed with all kinds of crap I don't care about, and it started to go downhill fast.Unlike Netflix, another recent, high-profile convert to advertising, The Athletic will not offer an ad-free tier.
“I truly believe that premium digital ads are not something that people are paying to get out of,” Tomich said. “People are paying for the journalism—and as long as we don’t introduce a bunch of bad ads that get in the way of the experience, we are confident in our ability to grow both businesses side by side.”

Re: Hockey Twitterverse
NHL would never sacrifice that much ad revenue

Re: Hockey Twitterverse
That ad revenue is all from ads inserted electronically now.

Re: Hockey Twitterverse
And they make me crazy. Seemed like at first they only changed the ad during non play, but now they blink away, distracting from the game.

Re: Hockey Twitterverse
I only really notice them when they have moving graphics in the ad. I think they've stopped using moving graphics during play after getting some feedback, but there was one with something racing around the boards opposite of the puck being dumped in and it confused my brain.
