I see people complaining the fine is too small, but I have no idea how much money players in some Ukrainian league make. I wouldn't be surprised if they're paid in vodka and sadness.

I don't even know of any racist gestures except the Asian eye thing that people did in kindergarten.

He was yelling at a black player and then mimicked peeling and then eating a banana. I don’t know what he was yelling because I can’t lipread pinko.

Yeah, we're way more advanced in the states. We just throw actual bananas on the ice.

I first read "Nieuwendyk vs. Modano". Too bad, that could've been even more fun.

I went to one of these games maybe 15 years ago. The Hanson Brothers were there. Gary Cheevers played goalie. Some of the older guys playing were slooow. At this point, I don't remember who all was there. One dude had just retired, and he was noticeably faster than everyone else.

Man, watching Ovechkin chase Gretzky and watching McDavid do things no human should be able to do really does make hockey awesome.

McDavid's got a fairly decent chance of hitting 2000 points. Maybe even 4000 if he pulls a Gordie Howe.

The latest "who didn't he play for" quiz is up. I got 10/16 on this one. These were mostly guys in my hockey wheelhouse, but a few started their days a bit before my time. Guys like Amonte and Damphousse were already established vets by 1993.

10/16 too, in some questions I was like "but he played for all of them".
