For almost league minimum, that's not bad.

You think a guy who wilts under the least amount of pressure is going to score on a team he's going to get all hyped up to play?
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

I have know idea what he's gonna do. On the one hand, his confidence, scoring zero goals, has to be pretty low. But knowing how hockey go, he will probably light it up, afterall he is way overdueski! I thought he did play well without the puck and defensively last season, maybe that's worth 850k. I'd rather he signed out of the West or for sure out of the Central, but it will be interesting to see how he performs this season.

Foolish. A change of scenery isn't the issue. He sucked in the KHL for God's sake.

Dude hasn’t scored a goal since 2016. There’s a big enough sample size to conclude that it’s due to lack of talent, not lack of confidence.

Yeah, ya'll keep telling yourself that. Meanwhile, when Val burns Polak for the third time in the second period en route to an injured Bishop's backup...

Yeah but he's playing great defense now.

Wasn't the NHL too rough for him ?

The Avs failed with Yakupov, they're trying another shot with him.

I wouldn't say he was great at defense. He was maybe average or above average, but then again, you'd think a coach like Montgomery who decided to play a purely defensive scheme would've then decided to let him play if he were good a defense.

That was supposed to come off as sarcasm.

You need to venture to other sites. Lots of Stars fans convinced themselves he is a great defensive forward. I don't really get it. It seemed like he lost the great majority of puck battles.

Same. He just sort of floated around and got in the way from time to time.

He didn’t even get in the way. If you were involved enough to get in the way, you’d accumulate at least one minor penalty over the course of a season.

Even if it's a stupid one in the offensive zone, leaving your team in a world that would eventually become full of *poo poo*. At least it'd mean that you tried something.

First round bust. I won't bet on a 30+/pts next season.

According to FancyStats, Nichushkin both never scored, but also prevented the other team from scoring.

Considering he's probably loaded from his playing days, this isn't quite the gamble for him that it would be for some generic assistant GM who is gambling their career on this kind of decision.

The league used to recycle GMs the way they do coaches, but those days seem to be over. There are a few exceptions, but the great majority of GM hires these days are first-time GMs. Those new GMs get about five seasons, and most are done after that, never to be a GM again. It's hard. There are only so many of these jobs, and if you end up in a bad situation where the prior GM set you up with limited assets and bad contracts, you could find yourself gone before you're ever able to truly reset things.

He looks like an alien wearing a skin suit in that picture, tho.

Also, here's hoping the Wild draft is nothing but Guerin going down a list of 18 year olds and playing "Gay or Not Gay?"
