June 12, 2014 - Central Hockey League (CHL) Missouri Mavericks
Independence, Missouri -- The Missouri Mavericks introduced Richard Matvichuk as the new head coach at a press conference on Thursday morning at Independence Events Center.

"When Brent Thiessen offered me the position, I couldn't get back to the phone quick enough," said Matvichuk, "Mavericks fans deserve a championship, and it's now my job to bring them one. We're going to win, and we're going to have a good time doing it.

Former #txstars Philip Larsen moves inside the KHL to Jokerit.
Former Dallas Star Niko Kapanen is the captain of Larsen's new squad Niklas Hagman also on the roster.

No *poo poo*. There was an entire season where Hagman was the only reason to watch.

The only thing I remember about Kapanen was that hat trick he scored against us after he went to Phoenix.

What's the Magic Wand doing these days?

Of course I wasn't referring to Hagman. What kind of person do you think I am?

But good know know that there's still one thing left that I can do to troll you guys.

I see that EA has realistically captured Fistric's normal style of playing defense.

Total troll job from EA. A Canuck winning a fight? EA will probably put CHICAGO CUBS: 2016 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS on their next MLB game.

That wouldn't have fazed Fistric. His head has the density of a thousand suns.

The Canucks player probably didn't even do anything. I'm guessing Fistric tried to throw a hit and just missed an fell down.

The fights were kinda dogshit in 2013, the fighting was a bit more realistic in 2014 and 2015, so yeah.

I still play 09 because it's the last one they made for computers. *f-bomb* shelling out hundreds of dollars for a new gaming system. I only play NHL anyway anymore. I never play any other games.

That's what I mean. Say you choose the Stars. Who is your enforcer? Vern Fiddler?

The most impressive things is that they believe Fistric could actually make it to playing in a game.

Just because he didn't work out here, doesn't mean Jagr isn't the best:

Jagr is just the best. He gives zero fucks. I love it. I don't care if he only played 20 games here, I'm glad he was here for a while.

This is a great read. James Neal writes about what it takes to be an elite sniper. Some great ex-Stars anecdotes in here:

I've read a lot of the hockey things they've posted on that site. Can't say I've seen a bad one yet.

I would rather read an article like that from someone who is actually an elite sniper.

Article summary: "If you want to be a truly elite sniper in the NHL, get your self put on a line with Malkin and leech off him as much as possible."
