It’s, and I quote, her “mission to make hockey an authentically inclusive space”. She’s getting paid for this bullshit.

And I for one can’t wait for the entire Kraken team to be iced with the fattest blackest most disabled women this world has to offer.

I'm fine with it. Hockey needs all the attention it can get.

You would think this means they won't have scantily clad ice girls/cheerleaders.

But the sport itself is already classist based on how expensive it is to play, and I’m fine with that LOL.

If the Kraken doesn't put a line composed 100% by indigenous black-asian cis-gendered bi-inclusive++ pansexual players wearing rainbow socks and gloves for its inaugural puck-drop, I'm flying straight to Seattle to pull all statues down while urging for her immediate firing.

I'm too lazy to make a search: is there a specific team order in which Seattle picks unprotected guys in the expansion draft ?

You mean when announced? Alphabetically by team.

No. The NHL hands them the list, and Seattle turns in their completed choices after they're done. Seattle isn't making picks in any order or under the gun of a ticking clock for each pick.

Seriously, Nill did a pretty good job here, if Oleksiak or Bishop is the biggest potential loss. Seattle could build a really good team here.

I give him a lot of *poo poo*, but look at our expansion list vs. Toronto or Edmonton or Tampa. Holy *poo poo*.

It’s easy to not expose any good players when you have so few to begin with.

Yeah, it's not a good sign for roster depth to lose no sleep over this process.

The Avs protected Nichushkin over Landeskog. Edmonton protected some guy named Ethan Bear over Barrie and Klefbom. Ottawa went hard to win the Dzingel sweepstakes only to leave him unprotected two years later. And so on and so forth.

I'd say Nill was ahead of the GM curve on this expansion draft. Low bar, sure, but we're not sitting here worrying about whether Seattle will take Hintz or Klingberg off our hands because of cap mismanagement three years ago.

The teams could protect 7 forwards and 3 defensemen. Nill's problem was coming up with that many.

Landeskog, Barrie, and Dzingel are all UFA's, and Klefbom is likely to miss all of next season too (he played 0 games this season).

He's been underpaid for a few seasons. Normally, he'd easily get it as a UFA, even though he'll be 29 next season, but he may be the biggest victim of the covid/flat cap crunch.
