It hardly matters, though, since no one will actually watch them in action.

Lamoriello should have been the one to get rid of IMO.

Has Roy been coaching at any level since he left the Avs years ago?

We’ll be at the game tomorrow too, so I look forward to seeing an enraged meltdown.

Roy is totally overrated. He ultimately won the Memorial Cup last year with the Remparts but the team was ridiculously stacked. Before that, he failed several times to get any title with squads also built up to win.

What is it with that org and putting goalies in inappropriate management positions?

Since he is coming back to the NHL as head coach the league's YouTube channel has decided to pay tribute to Patrick Roy's finest moment.

Dube recently took a leave of absence, then it was Hart yesterday, and today this:

Coincidental? Could be. But it's still disturbing and there's no smoke without fire, so... For the recollection, Batherson was in the hot water a while ago because of this and Formenton fled to a swiss *excrement hole* where no one will go after him.

Meanwhile Edmonton has won it's 14th straight game. And they're adding Corey F Perry!

17 game win streak is the all time longest win streak, btw.

Formenton's Swiss club made the same sort of announcement about him leaving the team and returning to Canada.

It's also pretty strange how the Flames put out Dube's leave as him taking time away to deal with mental health issues. The other four guys are having their absences described as "personal reasons" or with no reason given at all.

I'm half-surprised by that. It looked like he run away there to hide from any charges because there are basically two reasons why you would stay in Ambrì-Piotta, Switzerland, a 400-people village lost in a deep valley that doesn't receive any sunshine from late November to early February: either your are born there or you have Interpol running after you.

I like to think that brutal loss to the Stars is the real cause.

It may make us feel better to note that going up by a couple goals and then coming out completely flat next period is a league wide problem. Maybe hockey has shifted a little more offensive than people realize and the strategy of sitting back for a period just doesn't work well anymore.

It happens all the time. I do think it’s especially often this season. Hockey seems to be more wide open.

Yes. The conventional wisdom now seems to be you need to get to 4 goals for the almost sure 2 points. Used to be 3.
