2023 NHL Draft

The “What’s Best For Connor Bedard?” Rankings

Last year we thought this section was about Shane Wright and I put Seattle at No. 1, writing “the Kraken would offer plenty of playing time.” Never listen to anything I say about anything, ever.

Not ranked: Philadelphia Flyers — “BOOOOOOOO! YOU SUCK KID! BOOOOOO!” But enough about what John Tortorella would say.

I see the draft lottery show is only 30 minutes. Ok. I'll watch.

I swear the last time I did they ran a horrible hour long show full of nothing.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

Didn't know that a team can only win the lottery once in 5 years.

Good, *f-bomb* the Coyotes and their stupid lack of trying to be competitive.

Funny screw up on the broadcast with Weeks saying Columbus picks third.

Of course it's Chicago.

Oh well, Fantilli and Zegras as going to demolish the league in a few years.

It was always rigged to go this way. The league learned their lesson when they let McDavid go to Edmonton.

Ok, Bedard. Time to be a hero. Pull a Lindros.

Of course these Hawks suckers won it. This was written all over the place.

One more reason to hate them.

He should try to get a few concussions?

Side note: I of course knew about the deal for Lindros that included Peter Forsberg but I didn't realize the Rangers had also agreed to a trade for him (which was voided by an arbitrator in favor of the Flyers).
At the 1992 NHL Entry Draft, the Nordiques worked out trades involving Lindros with both the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers. The Flyers trade had the Nordiques receiving Steve Duchesne, Ron Hextall, Kerry Huffman, Mike Ricci, the rights to Peter Forsberg, the Flyers' first-round pick in 1992 (seventh overall) and 1993 and $15 million.

The trade with the Rangers had the Nordiques receiving Tony Amonte, Alexei Kovalev, John Vanbiesbrouck, Doug Weight, three first-round picks (in 1993, 1994 and 1996) and $12 million.
