Even if the Stars lose, they showed they can run with the Kraken. They absolutely dominated the last half.

Marchment thought he was going to shoulder Oleksiak out of the way. Ok.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

Hintz hurt? Dellandrea took his spot for a shift.

I believe in another life he was a great Swedish tennis player and also had the catchphrase "Resistance is Futile". Asides from that, don't know much about him.

Some sort of cloned Oleksiak, a defensive Dman that hits a lot and had a pretty good year with Seattle.

Maybe it’s Glendenning who is missing. Hintz just took his shift.

Does ESPN have cameras in a different location than Bally? I’m seeing a lot of hands in front of cameras tonight that I didn’t see on Bally.

Last call was in the third period. Nobody has $17 beers on their hands.

Welp. The difference was that one minute of Kraken terror. We’ll bounce back.

And this came from the 748th turnover of the Lïndëll/Häkänpää pair, which has been brutal tonight.

Ugh
Hopefully other players contribute next game.
Get Seguin off the top line. He isn’t good enough. Bury his ass on the fourth line.

Remember that ESPN game against Tampa a few years back where we won 1-0 and the last 60 seconds was some dudes bald head in front of the camera?

Interestingly I didn't think Seattle was all that great in their own zone.
They were, however, great in ours.

I don't feel as hopeless about their chances after seeing a whole game. The Frugal Gourmet wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 12:05 am Interestingly I didn't think Seattle was all that great in their own zone.

On one hand, they have to fix the first line. I don’t even think it had a good shift.
On the other hand, Pavelski scored 4 goals on another line.

Re: RD2 GM1 05/02 vs Kraken (8:30PM CT) - Release the Captain (America)
I'm pretty much ok with the Stars getting punched in the mouth. That first period was brutal. Stars were just floating around, swinging their sticks at the puck and getting blown past. Yes, even Heiskanen.
Also, Seattle is a really solid, intelligent team. The Wild were drooling imbeciles that repeatedly gifted us power play after power play. The Kraken are not nearly as physical, but they forecheck well, and when anyone has the puck it's off their stick to an open guy in half a second or less. In that respect they remind me a lot of the Ruff Stars when we were 'on'... it looks like they're skating fast but they're really just knowing where to pass it even before they get the puck.
Encouragingly, Dallas seemed to choke that off after the first period.
Also, LOTS of line mixing from DeBoer. Dellendrea with Hintz, Heiskanen with Harley, etc etc. The only line he didn't touch was Faksa's line, which sucked. Also probably a good idea to put in Hanley over Miller, who makes bad decisions.
Really Wyatt should've ended it in the third, but ah well. If you're going to lose, there's no time better than Game 1. Only 25% of Game 1 winners won their series in the first round.
