RD1 GM2 04/19 vs Wild (8:30PM-ish CT) - THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE

Post by Knives Out »

LOL Tufte got called up.

Despite that though, I predict a 3-1 or 5-2 win for Dallas.

With first liner Joe Pavelski out, what this team needs is some AHL third liner.

I agree that it's dumb and counterintuitive since the Wild playing rock 'em sock 'em is detrimental to themselves in the long run, but I'd rather Tufte have to deal with them bullshits instead of a good player LOL.

Him and Reaves making out at centre ice would be pretty cool.

While I somehow get the big body argument, I'd be cool if guys like Hakanpää could actually use their physical shape as well. And I expect Stars players to react a bit more when their top players are getting molested.

I guess it doesn't hurt to have a dedicated enforcer around. I just don't want the Stars sucked into that style of play. They'll lose.

The Stars are in numerical inferiority in this field anyway so yeah, but they still need to show that they won't tolerate to be aggressed. It will be important to take an early lead to silent them, and then ignore tools like Reaves.

Tufte is big but he is most definitely NOT an 'enforcer'. Benn is probably the only guy we have in that role. Maybe Domi?

I would describe Domi more as an "agitator", and a light one.

Can't we sign Hatcher to an ATO contract, just in case?

Suter being a perpetual prick might actually come in handy? Fans of both teams hate him LOL.

Wild call up Sammy Walker because Hartman might be a game-time-decision?

Anyways, looking like another 8:50pm puck drop : I

Remember back when it was the player’s own fault if they got hit? Paul Kariya shouldn’t have gotten caught skating with his head down, of course Scott Stevens was going to truck him.

Stars just need to stick with their game. They're the better team. And patience will pay off. The Wild will tire out or make dumb mistakes going for the physical and the Stars can capitalize on their mistakes. I'd prefer speed over toughness too. Even if we aren't always scoring, speed tires out the opposition.

And I think speed would be helpful to get behind Minnesota's defense. As constructed, the top three lines have only one fast guy in Hintz. Everyone else is average or slow. Pavelski makes up for being slow with other talents, but Tufte being big and slow isn't what the team needs.

Counterpoint: it would be very funny to see them get beat by an inferior #pesky team after the Stars failed to do anything with the pesky strategy for like a decade.

I guess it's pretty hard to be vague about this injury these days. "He's in the concussion protocol with an upper-body injury" doesn't work.

Was it the article written by both Yusuf and Russo? Because this one is collector too in terms of insults and clichés.

The one that gives me tired head reading his TWITTER thread ( which I now stopped doing) is the scores of people that really want to relentlessly scrutinize the incident JFK style. “Here’s a frame that shows only Dumba’s left pinkie connecting”. “No, actually if you look at the video this way it was head contact”. Back and forth.

2 days of this.

Jesus Christ.

It’s so important for people to support their tribe.

I have my opinion. But moving on now.

I thought the gentleman's sweep is where the other team wins game 4 only. To make it seem more competitive than it was.

Like the Arnott team against Colorado.
