I believe both teams are paying tribute to Robertson in these OT periods.

It's funny how by the 3rd overtime, it looked like a game from 1995. It's really amazing how slow NHL players used to be.

Re: 2023 NHL Playoffs (Thread)
There was a game when Jagr was with Boston that went 3-4OTs. He was old and slow but in amazing shape because he rode the bike for like 3 hours after every game. So as the OT’s drug on, the rest of the players got tired and slowed down, but Jagr stayed at the same speed, and he was owning the game like it was 1995 and ended up assisting on the game winner

If I remember correctly, when Jagr signed with Dallas one of the stipulations is that he be given a key to the Starcenter so that he could practice whenever he wanted and he would go practice at like 2 in the morning. The guy is basically a hockey machine. He does nothing but play hockey.

Also I think if you can't use unbridled aggression to fly at the puck anymore individual skill is gonna kill.

They are us in 2020. Which leads to:
And they are definitely not the 2012 LA Kings because those fuckers only lost TWO games heading into the Final ...

I'm starting to entertain the perhaps-misguided notion that Barkov may possibly have been a better pick than Val.

Re: 2023 NHL Playoffs (Thread)
He was drafted 2nd overall after McKinnon so it's not like he was drafted well after he should've been.
Re: 2023 NHL Playoffs (Thread)
Was he? For some reason I thought he was drafted like 8th or something.
Also, it's amazing how both these teams devolve into 22 Glendenings after the second intermission. I fully expect another 3OT game tonight.

Carolina’s will is going to be broken after this. Losing the first two at home in OT. Oof.

Jacob "Better Than Hintz According To That One Article" on the ice without his stick covering nobody on that goal, too.
Re: 2023 NHL Playoffs (Thread)
Tkachuk is an unusually good interview. He'd probably make a pretty good analyst once his playing days are over, unless the personality has been beaten out of him by then.

One of the few with a personality. He seems like he'd be fun to have a beer with.

Amazing how hard it is to get in and generate offense against the Panthers right now. They've got it going.

Still weird to see the Florida arena reaching more than 50% capacity.

Jones is an idiot. It doesn't matter if it just hits the shield. It's still high sticking if one of the officials saw it.

Also, Brind'Amour is too emotional and nervous behind the bench. They need a calming, stoic influence back there and he is exactly the opposite.

Re: 2023 NHL Playoffs (Thread)
Whoever is rigging the NHL these days should try a little harder than a FLA/VGK finals. Lazy writing.

Re: 2023 NHL Playoffs (Thread)
Also probably not a good idea to have only one of the teams get to win all the games in each series.
