Dadonov with a missed almost-empty net on that 3-on-1 (Lindell wasn't really a factor there).

That was awesome by the Captain. Wins the draw to Miro and heads straight for the net, Miro shoots instantly and it’s gobbled up by Markstrom. Then you see Benn talking to Miro before the next draw, saying something along the lines of waiting a bit longer so they can set up traffic better. Benn wins the draw, Miro holds, shoots, and then either Benn or Wyatt tipped it while in the slot.

They are saying that is Benn’s 30th. Nice.

It would be really cool if the Stars could re-sign Domi. He’s just got a score-first mentality and creativity the Stars sorely need.

I agree that Domi has been refreshing, but it’s a contract year for him, and you are definitely talking lace before the robe is cut.

He’s Benn pretty complete this season. 30 goals, 60% faceoff percentage, reliable defensively. I don’t expect it to repeat but I’ll take it.

He’s always been creative offensively, just bad defensively.Knives Out wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 9:51 pmI agree that Domi has been refreshing, but it’s a contract year for him, and you are definitely talking lace before the robe is cut.
It’s mostly a matter of money. If he’s a $3MM guy, hell yes. If he’s a $4MM+ guy, seems like a pass.

I'd like it too, but It's going to be tough cap-wise. Glendening and Dadonov liekly won't be back, JFK is UFA, Dell'Andrea RFA with a raise in perspective. If Domi continues in this trend, I'm afraid he will command a salary the Stars won't be able to give.

When we get swept in round one, you'll hate those guys and not want us to re-sign them

They switched the goal to Johnston. He’s now the leading goal scorer among rookies yet not even top 5 in most Calder polls.

He's also the most likely reason for Benn's resurgence imo.

Linemates matter. Also, I think Benn’s ice time being reduced made a big impact.

That and the reduced ice time. I think less of Benn has given us a better Benn. The Frugal Gourmet wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 10:06 pmHe's also the most likely reason for Benn's resurgence imo.

Awards like the Calder and Norris are decided in November. To win them, you need to be at the top of the early awards watch articles. Johnston has come on strong in the past month, but so many voters already have their votes wired in place. You really need a strong start to win these awards.

Beniers was also a high pick which I think has a big influence.

With his assist, Miro is one game shy of tying the longest point streak in franchise history by a Dman.

11 more goals and 3 more assists is all he needs.

Walker Duehr sounds more like a choice than a hockey player.

These posts have made more saves than Wedgewood would have.

Hmmmm. I get that there was a minimum amount of traffic, but that is still a weak five-hole goal to give up.

I don’t know. When Weegar comes bearing down, you pretty much expect a goal.Knives Out wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 10:28 pm Hmmmm. I get that there was a minimum amount of traffic, but that is still a weak five-hole goal to give up.

Erik Karlsson winning the Norris would confirm that. But I dislike the fact that the Norris puts too much emphasis on points scored. IMO guys like Morrissey or Dahlin are way ahead of Karlsson.Troy McClure wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 10:13 pmAwards like the Calder and Norris are decided in November.
