03/14 @ Vancouver (9PM CT) - pad those stats
The Canucks give up a lot of goals and have the worst PK in the league.
They're also on a four game winning streak, but they want to lose. Losing is what they do.

I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

We pooped in the fan last time against them.
With Wedgewout still injured, I'm leaning towards another real Matt Murray start.

Trademark accepted!
Now we've got to find a name for the other Matt Murray. I'd suggest 4-GAA Matt Murray.

I'd think you would be his biggest fan because he's likely to be a big player in another Leafs collapse.

Game two of the cdanew / twins road trip. Seattle was fun last night. Liked the arena a lot and the area around it was awesome. The arena around Rogers Arena in Vancouver ... not so much. There is an urban Costco and elevated roadways right next to the venue.

Even worse, I'm rooting for them in the East. If they can silent the Habs for decades by ultimately winning the big bowl, I'm all for it.Knives Out wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 5:09 pm I don't hate the Leafs LOL.

(and by side effect, my daughter is a Leafs fan just because she loves maple syrup)

You should be able to buy 72 Costco beers for the price of one arena beer.

Not sure if I ever mentioned it before but my mother lived in Victoria, BC for a few years. It's where the Benn boys are from.

The Seattle arena seems really cool. I think the constant playing of the same six grunge songs would drive me crazy as a season ticket holder, but it feels like they made the game experience for the out of town visitor. As a guest, it's probably perfect.
Rogers Arena is a dump on the inside as well. When you're in there, think about this: it's only five years older than the AAC.

I'm kinda disappointed, always had the feeling Vancouver was a cool venue. Maybe opioids and fentanyl are easier to get, that could be a good compensation.Troy McClure wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 6:14 pmThe Seattle arena seems really cool. So ok, Seattle is a place to go. I'll put a checkmark on it after MSG, Boston and Chicago.

Re: 03/14 @ Vancouver (9PM CT) - pad those stats
A Canucks game is fun because the fans are really into it and are super bitter. They give a lot of feedback to what's going on during the game. I'm just saying the arena sucks.
But Vancouver itself is a great city. We stayed at some fancy Chinese owned hotel in downtown. It's an easy walk to the arena. Even if the neighborhood around the arena is a bit rough, it's Canada rough... A couple of blocks that still look nicer than half of Dallas city proper. For an American, that area is just fine.

Not appropriate for the twins but I think shrooms are legal in Canada now? I bet a Canucks game would be pretty fun while tripping balls

Actually we don't bother if it's legal or not. But according to the canadian standards, I've only heard that Vancouver is trash. In comparison, Victoria is tremendously nice.ScubaSteve wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 6:32 pm Not appropriate for the twins but I think shrooms are legal in Canada now? Costco hot dogs are still 1.50. But that's 1.50 Canadian! So score. The Frugal Gourmet wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 5:21 pmYou should be able to buy 72 Costco beers for the price of one arena beer.

M3GA: Make Matt Murray Great Again.
Not his fault, but maybe his #32 stands for a Kari tribute night in Vancouver.

It went under the radar but Quinn Hughes is the fastest Dman in NHL history to reach the 200-assist mark.

EMM seems pretty decent. Not like Hasek reincarnated but still good.
