2023 Trade Nonsense

Guess Kane doesn’t want to be traded, or at least to the Hockey Rangers.

I'm still optimistic that the Stars get a damaged Patrick Kane.

That’s an awful lot for him though. He’d be a third-line guy here.

I’m in for Monahan for cheap if possible. He’d add a nice middle-six scoring tough and hopefully be inexpensive.

Monahan cannot stay healthy.

Also, this what the retainment gymnastics ends up looking like:

I know. But if they can get him for cheap, he’d be a good add. Just have to live with missing some games. Also he may not be very motivated on his current team to tough it out.

I think it's a good deal for the Leafs and the cap hit is not insane. O'Reilly may only center the third line but this gives more flexibility for them and for the PP as well. He's a local and no doubt he will be motivated as hell. But first and foremost, the Leafs are bringing a guy that has already won the Cup and not a washed-up Thornton or Marleau, this is not negligible. Acciari brings what was lacking the most in this team: grit and toughness, a swiss-knife type player and an upgrade to Kämpf. At one point, the Leafs had to make such a deal if they want to avoid the classical first round exit.

Also, the *fargin'* Blues are now a weaker team and this pleases me very much.

Kane isn’t being held out of the lineup. Probably because him playing well only helps his value. He had an assist tonight to give him a three game point streak.

As opposite as Klingberg who got injured. I Still got the feeling Kane will stay with the Hawks.

NHL network head said that Klingberg is being looked at in Edmonton. The deal for Karlsson may not be panning out.

A fatal error has finally been repaired, Shea Weber has just been traded to Arizona where all contracts go to die.

So this entire time we could have buried any overpaid player we wanted if we included a 5th round pick? *f-bomb*.

It turns out this one works because Weber still has one of those contracts the rules now disallow. Weber's money was all paid up front, so they're going to put him on the active roster next season as an IR guy but not as an LTIR guy.

Arizona is about to hit the cap floor by paying Weber $1 million per season the next three seasons with a cap hit of $7.9 million a season. This helps send the message the Coyotes aren't even going to try to ice an NHL roster for the next three seasons.

The ugly contracts the Stars have require cash pretty close to the cap hits, so the cheap Coyotes owners wouldn't take them.

I believe the bigger contracts on the Stars don't require much salary, but have high signing bonuses.

The real problem is Nill giving out NMCs like candy on Halloween. I get it for a guy like Pavelski, or even a Benn who is a franchise dude. But Suter? If he won't sign without one, hit the road. Lindell? You need to overpay AND give a NMC? Marchment?
