11/3 @ Arizona (9PM CT) - "Stop it with the locker room thing!"

Post by Math »

from Arizona's coach André Tourigny yesterday on TVAS. He also said that this 5k-arena is super fun and much more noisy than other half-empty NHL standards arena. I have to give him that: better have a small packed place than a huge 20k-seat cathedral (but yeah, I know...)

Wedgewool likely to start, Ingram in for the Yotes.

(And screw the 9PM CT start)

I'm thinking about getting out there for the next Stars game there in March. Sounds like it is attracting a lot of fans from the road teams.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

Puck Soup did a whole segment on the arena, and I agree with them. It can true that it's a both a fun thing from a fan experience (which is supposed to be excellent) and an embarrassment to the NHL.

Also, a lot of people are saying the ice is the best they've been on, which is super weird.

A small arena is easier to maintain the temperature and humidity you need for quality ice, and I’d assume the event calendar and amount of time the ice is covered is far less than in a large multipurpose arena. With NHL-level ice technicians working in those conditions, it should easily be the best sheet in the league, even working in the desert.

I think it's also a.mostly hockey only arena. If the ice is seldom being covered, it's going to be better. That's a big reason why those Canadian teams who don't share with NBA teams have better ice.

Because of you, The Maple Leafs will now jump on this excuse to explain their deceptive season start :D

I'm just saying .... Ft Worth could use a hockey team and would probably have a lot better attendance.

I’m loving these Coyotes reverse retro jerseys because no team has a color scheme anything like them.

I see Gurianov scored early. We are definitely facing a bonafide bottom feeder LOL.

I wonder if it’s a camera setup thing. When they went to a corner camera, things looked brighter.

Neat little one foot assist from Marchment made it happen.

Gurianov had to be the most due. He's had the most quality chances of anyone who hasn't scored.

One more goal to match the amount Scott normally gives up.

This is one of those where we score early despite not having to work that hard so the lead might be pretty ephemeral.

Okay, the Lil John “YEAH!” to indicate that the PK is over is a nice touch LOL.

They finally fixed the feed after seven minutes into the game and I missed the two first goals because of these incompetent fuckers.

Would be funny if the ref’s penalty announcement was followed by a “WHAT?”

I know Stars media is required to say the last game was vintage Benn, but I still don’t think he’s a good long term fit on the top PP unit. Having Benn wanting to get to the net front isn’t a good use of Pavelski’s abilities.

Is Kari in goal for the Coyotes? How's the tiny arena? So far from the Coyotes broadcast, all I've learned is that Tyson Nash has CTE.

We are beating them early without having had to work all that hard, but I still haven't forgotten that the Coyotes --- and other bottom feeders -- kinda kicked our ass last year and took points from us.

Get the points boys.

Safe to say the goal has boosted Gurianov’s spirits. He tried maybe four shot attempts this PP.

Ok that goalie's name is not a name, it's a shotgun blast of consonants.
