The second line is something to keep an eye on. DeBoer keeps rotating RWs because he's not happy with the line.

The line isn't getting outscored (Seguin is even 5v5 and Marchment is -1), but they are getting out shot and out fancy stated by too big of a margin. They're giving up more shots (Seguin and Marchment are -22 and -21 in shot difference so far this season). They're also giving up more scoring chances than they're generating. It hasn't burned them yet, but it's the kind of trend that leads to bad outcomes if the trend continues.

The fact that we actually have a second line to keep an eye on is a huge step forward LOL.

And even a third line. I guess the duos Marchment-Seguin and Benn-Johnston (for now) are set. And then choose your best complement (I didn't say "least worst") between a ¼-dimensional forward with one move, a presidential pocket winger who scores by accident and a not-a-prospect-anymore who tries to remain with the big team.

" a presidential pocket winger"
I don't even know what this means.

Obviously doesn't do anything to help our right wing.

Fourth time in a row that a Stars game is broadcasted in french on RDS or TVA. They seem to love us.

Ice hockey doesn't like Gurianov. If he's making the right move or take the right option by chance, then he's got bad luck.

So elbowing is no more whistled. But this was originally Häkänpää's fault.

The Caps have some huge and massive bodies. Protas, Fehérvarý, Orlov and some others are like 7'5"-450 lbs.

Johnston and Dell'Andrea are doing almost everything right, and then you have Benn to make a mess in between.

JFK Shorthanded. Holy *poo poo*.

He has tripled his number of goals of last season and is now tied in second place for the most goals with Johnston.

Very cool goal. Carlson was a bit soft on his pass attempt, and JFK was all over it.

Like almost the rest of the team. TVA's analyst and former goalie Patrick Lalime had a chat with some of the Stars players in Montréal and they told hom how thrilled they were since the coach change and how they liked to finally play more with the puck.

Oettinger should fire his agent for talking him into taking a three season deal at below average money for a starter.

And a so much deserved shootout. As long as the game was going, the Stars took control and the Caps tried to go with their individualities in a messy way. Lundkvist was in Heiskanen mode and it still strange to see this team attacking even with the lead in the third period.

The early offense has wilted however.

The very second I complimented Seguin as being better prompted three straight games of invisibility and getting outplayed. Of course.

Hopefully now my dissing Seguin will have the opposite effect.

I'd say the offseason of leg days has Seguin's legs stronger in terms of how he's able to battle with other guys, but he's still below average speed wise and has no real burst of acceleration. When he and an opponent are both two steps away from the puck, Seguin isn't winning these quickness races.

The powerplay as a whole was deceptively great early on playing a passive Nashville. No team since then is giving them that much time and space.

We still ultimately have a few of the same issues as last year. When the first line struggles, we are a little better now. But we probably still need more.

For sure. All of the roster changes Nill made seem to be upgrades, but he still has most of the same roster. Benn is a husk of his former self. Faksa continues to look like a guy who has had a bunch of injuries over the course of his career and now is barely an NHL player.

But, we are seeing less of those two.

This upgraded coach has wisely adjusted usage. Faksa is playing over three minutes less a game. Benn is playing 2.75 minutes less a game. Glendenning is also playing two minutes less a game.

It is worth noting that Miro hasn't played these last two games though, in regard to getting the other lines rolling on the breakout etc.
