slaps wrote: Thu Oct 20, 2022 2:02 pm The first part of that quote is just mind-bottling to me. These guys have athletic prowess that most people can't even fathom but they kind of need a coach who tells them what to do with it.
I think what he's saying he wanted is a bigger role. He wasn't happy about being on the second line and second PP unit. He wanted more and better minutes, but he also wanted more communication about his role.

Maybe that is on Bowness for failing to be direct.
I read it more as "you don't want me in the role to which I am accustomed, which is fine I guess, but then what do you want from me?" and he never got answers.
This is what I mean about Bowness not being direct. I don’t think Seguin would have been any happier had Bowness sat him down to explain his role isn’t any larger because he’s not playing very well.

Seguin was probably our best player tonight. If we have an actual second line because he doesn't suck anymore, that would be nice.

Stars went from 2nd oldest team last year to 14th oldest this year.

Radulov —> Marchment
Raffl —> Johnston
Klingberg —> Lundkvist

I also never know if those sites count guys on LTIR like Bishop or how they factor in part timers. Did they count Comeau because he started the season with the team?

I think the key to our success has been replacing Harley with Colin Miller.

He was our 6th best goal scorer last year but tied for first in pine riding this year.

When I watched him last year I thought he should be playing, but my understanding is he didn't because of defensive shortcomings.

Scoring was a huge problem for us last year so I wanted every scorer we could get playing.

Should be interesting though.

I still can't get over how weird it feels having drafted good offensive players in the first round. Are we sure that's allowed?

Blumel is having his way with the AHL. Might as well give him a shot because this team has hit an offensive stall.

This move is also one allowing Nill to avoid worrying about waivers. This also probably means Peterson is going to have to play well in the AHL to earn another call up. As much as Nill hates exposing any player to waivers, I can't imagine him being brought back up unless Nill thinks Peterson is worthy of hanging around the NHL the rest of the season.

Oettinger is out for the next week and will then be re-evaluated.

The Stars can't fit Khudobin under the cap, so he's not getting called up. Not that you'd want him playing. He's been dog *poo poo* in the AHL.

So they're going to call up some other AHL/ECHL nobody who is league minimum cheap.

If a week of Wedgewood is going to be as hilarious as the third period box score from last game looks, I might have to tune in for one of these games

Yes, Roope Hintz will be a major driving force on the Stars offense too, but he is not the only one there to provide it. Apart from his linemate Jason Robertson, generational talents in Bourque, Johnston or Stanoven are expected to arrive in Dallas sooner rather than later. Moreover, his fellow countryman Miro Heiskanen signed a rather team-friendly deal for eight years last summer. I wonder whether Hintz and his representatives would be bold in their proposal to exceed the number Heiskanen got from Jim Nill.
