I'm generally disappointed in Scuba since I found out he plants tomatoes in AUGUST.

Yeah, I’m definitely underachieving lately. It’s a maintenance month for me.

Can we sign that weirdo to our board? He seems like a drunk asshole and would be perfect.

What the *f-bomb* is with everyone saying Tyler Bertuzzi, a guy who is often injured, is a nasty little anti-vax sicko, and doesn't even have 100 goals after 7 years in the league would be a good pickup for Dallas? Or my other favorite (all over the DBD comments on the trade target analysis story today) is that Dallas doesn't need anyone since they are at the top of the West. That seems like prospect brain and lack of awareness over depth to me.

It really is Kane/Boeser or bust.

There seems to be some idea of chasing a cheaper rental because then the Stars wouldn’t have to give up one of their five guaranteed Hall of Famer prospects.slaps wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 5:46 pm What the *f-bomb* is with everyone saying Tyler Bertuzzi, a guy who is often injured, is a nasty little anti-vax sicko, and doesn't even have 100 goals after 7 years in the league would be a good pickup for Dallas? Re: 2022-2023 Stars Regular Season Thread
Bertuzzi had 30 goals last season. That's not too shabby.
I don't hate his stats and he has looked decent when I've seen him. I'd probably actually prefer him over injured Kane.
But yeah I don't agree with the claim we shouldn't try to improve because we are first. It should be the opposite and we all know Colorado is still the better team.

Bertuzzi is a more expensive Mason Marchment.

I think a good way to see if your roster can be upgraded or not is to ask if there are any players named Radek Faksa on the team, and if the answer is yes, then your roster needs to be upgraded.

Re: 2022-2023 Stars Regular Season Thread
Back in November times, I was thinking the place this team needs help is on defense, but Miller, Hakanpaa, and Lundkvist have all settled into their roles and played well. Ever since Christmas, it’s clear they need some offensive juice added the second/third line and the PP.The Frugal Gourmet wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 7:28 pm Bertuzzi had 30 goals last season. I also wonder if some of this offensive drop off comes from DeBoer tightening things up after some wild ass games earlier in the season with some big goals against totals. But then again, as I pulled some select month by month numbers, a lot of the drop off may be the PP withering to nothing.

I wonder if getting out of Vancouver would help Boeser find his game. That place seems pretty toxic.

Yeah I also think the defense has become tighter because it has to. You can definitely see extra goals lead to more relaxed play.Troy McClure wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 9:56 pmBack in November times, I was thinking the place this team needs help is on defense, but Miller, Hakanpaa, and Lundkvist have all settled into their roles and played well. Re: 2022-2023 Stars Regular Season Thread
My only worry is they’ve tightened down too much and have broken whatever looseness there was that allowed them to create offensive magic. Goal scoring the past month has felt like a chore.

A month or two ago PuckEmpire said his going rate was like a 2nd or 3rd round pick LOL.

2 more seasons after this one at 6.65, I see. No wonder the trade cost is low.
Not sure the Stars can even fit that under the cap.

And with Vancouver’s eagerness to immediately spend every penny of cap space probably means they won’t want to retain any of his contract. A $4.5 million Boeser is a nice player to have going forward. They’d probably want a lot more in return to do that.

Don’t the fat man and Vancouver’s owner hate each other?

I'm not sold on Boeser at all, a kind of streaky Laine of the poor.

Re: 2022-2023 Stars Regular Season Thread
I’d almost prefer a rental than being locked in to two more years of a well-paid question mark considering the Stars just gave a question mark winger a four-year deal this past summer and it is looking like a bad decision so far.

Boeser hasn’t been great in Vancouver but Vancouver is also a dumpster fire that treats people like garbage so…

After Studenic failed to provide any offensive bump with his eight minutes of ice time on the 4th line, the Stars are calling up Karlstrom this time.
They’re also keeping the PP units exactly the same in an effort to prove Einstein wrong.

Jets had a chance to use their game in hand to tie us for the West/Central lead but decided to lose against Columbus instead LOL.
