It's a very bad look to have someone learning how to do play by play at the NHL level. When Ludwig was thrust into a color role because of cancer to whoever the guy who was here briefly, Ludwig was *fargin'* terrible, but that wasn't a surprise. He'd never done it and never trained for it. He was handed a headset and had to do his best.

Sure, but I'm just going with the analogy of someone being thrown on a broadcast with no experience and why it turns out bad. It wasn't Ludwig's fault. We've watched the NFL do this a couple of times like when they threw Jason Witten on MNF, and he got canned after a season because he was so bad.

Hextall did a few women's tournaments and then jumped right to the NHL. She sounds like someone whose play by play training was a dozen or so hockey games.

I thought Ludwig was actually pretty decent. We're just spoiled with 20+ years of Rasor, who is *fargin'* phenomenal.

I've never heard Hextall before but from the clip it sounds like she's trying to emulate Joe Buck, but without the enthusiasm.
