Are there coyotes in Toronto? Canstick with the same theme... Or do some other Native American/First Nation theme.

Re: 2022-2023 NHL Regular Season Thread
The Aeros actually did well there. I went to a few games when I was in school down there and the crowd was decent. There's a big enough market and I would love to see a Texas rivalry get going. The Frugal Gourmet wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 9:55 am Houston is the obvious choice as it's by far the biggest market of cities without an NHL team.
I like being the only Texas team though.
I would not hate Kansas City because it's not Texas and (for a Texan like myself) a short drive. I like the idea of other NHL arenas that are in an easy day's driving distance.
Hell. Call them the Aeros even.

Wait, if the Coyotes move to Atlanta, doesn't that just mean that Atlanta and Winnipeg traded teams?

lol. They're officially staying at Mullett arena next year and the NHL claims they're exploring other options for a permanent "home" there.
Gary Bettman just does not know when to call it quits, does he?

I'm sure whichever corrupt city has the power to screw over its taxpayers the most will wind up with the Coyotes, but i can't blame the kid who runs their social media doing his job driving engagement.

Anywhere outside of Arizona is the correct answer.

Is there an even smaller, shittier suburb of Phoenix they could move to?

Re: 2022-2023 NHL Regular Season Thread
I just found out that the first inductee of the Coyotes Ring of Honor was Wayne Gretzky. He never played a game for them but had been part owner and head of hockey operations for 5 years. When he was inducted he had just become head coach for the team. The coach he replaced? None other than Ricky B himself.
Re: 2022-2023 NHL Regular Season Thread
And the Coyotes also retired Dale Hawerchuk's #10, making an epic jersey fail as he never played a single game in Arizona.

Nobody does. He's the type of loser tool who unsolicitedly gets involved in his son's contract talks.
Imagine your dad being on *fargin'* twitter LOL.
What an insufferable pain in the ass that guy is.

And the Leafs aren't bringing Dubas back as GM. No word yet on who steps in to deal with it. They need someone soon. You want a GM in place for the draft day trade work.

Re: 2022-2023 NHL Regular Season Thread
Why don't they want their GM? Hasn't he basically acquire everyone?
Re: 2022-2023 NHL Regular Season Thread
Now that he's finally old enough to be a GM, he gets fired..

I'm not sure if he's food or bad, but I can only think he'd be better without the pressure of Toronto

I'm starting to think the person running this account knows they're going to be laid off soon.

Just my 2¢ but shouldn't the first falling domino be Shanahan? He was the one who initiate the Shanaplan.

Um why should there by any falling dominos?

Yeah blowing up this teamnis idiotic. That said, I really hope they do it.
Re: 2022-2023 NHL Regular Season Thread
Oh I fully agree, but because it's Toronto... Their trade deadline aquisitions filled the missing parts, Samsonov got the edge over Vasilevskiy and they fell a terrific Florida team that had nothing to lose. But their home record was 1-5: if Toronto wants to go any further, they absolutely need to get the second WC spot. Not higher. The Frugal Gourmet wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 3:26 pm Um why should there by any falling dominos?

Yeah.
They don't even know how far Florida's gonna get. As it stands, they are all the closest team to winning it all.
Maybe they just ran into a total buzzsaw.

How do you all feel about the Hartford Coyotes?
https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/376 ... n-hartfordConnecticut Gov. Ned Lamont said Friday he's planning to meet with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman about the possibility of moving the Arizona Coyotes to Hartford.
Lamont told reporters during a news availability that he has reached out to the NHL and hopes the meeting can take place sometime next week.
"This is a great hockey state and a great hockey town," Lamont said. "It's evidenced by the passion we have for the Whalers going back years -- still one of the best selling jerseys. I think we can guarantee them a very strong market right here, and a government that's ready to come and be their partner."
