No, the Suns were sold a couple of months ago.Knives Out wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 1:25 pm Wait, wasn't he the same dude who didn't want to share the Suns arena with the Coyotes this entire *fargin'* time?

I'd like to continue with them being an easy win for the Stars. That's always gonna be my first priority or course.

I wonder if we get a revolt from players.

I like all of the relocation jokes today.

I also like the opportunity to troll QC City people, because you know, they really deserve an NHL team.

They could call themselves the Bolts and have a symbol of two parallel lightning bolts. That would play very well in Florida. The Frugal Gourmet wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 2:38 pmYou're right. Likely. There have been a lot of articles over the years on the viability of a second Toronto team. He's right, it would be a license to print money.

Re: 2022-2023 NHL Regular Season Thread
The LA Kings and NY Rangers outearned Toronto last year so we should put an additional team in New York or Southern California first.
California and New York State could have their own division too. We could put Seattle in California since it’s really just Northern California.

I'd be down for a second team in Toronto but only if they routinely beat the Maple Leafs in the first round.

Also it has to be a Rangers/Devils situation where nobody likes them but they are usually better.

Re: 2022-2023 NHL Regular Season Thread
So what's a good name for another Toronto team? And not necessarily joke names. I actually know very little about the area.
Re: 2022-2023 NHL Regular Season Thread
Maybe put a team in Oakland. The city is lacking pro sports organizations.

Re: 2022-2023 NHL Regular Season Thread
The new Toronto NHL team nickname should be "The 67s" since 1967 is the last time the Maple Leafs won a championship. It would be a great way to troll them. Only issue is if the Maple Leafs eventually won a championship but we all know that's not going to happen.

Re: 2022-2023 NHL Regular Season Thread
Or an even better name would be "The 69ers", think about how popular that jersey would be (I can just see the logo now).

The Mounties? Or is that a minor league team somewhere?
The Monarchs?
The Monarchs?
Re: 2022-2023 NHL Regular Season Thread
There's already the OHL's Ottawa 67s and now that has been brought up, I'm sure they named it for that reason.Archangel972 wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 6:04 pm The new Toronto NHL team nickname should be "The 67s" since 1967 is the last time the Maple Leafs won a championship.
