Whatever happens, Oettinger has been phenomenal.

Not to bad considering Calgary has been on a 40 minute power play

and it took a 5 on 3 to score. Even just a little offense would save us.

Now if the Flames stupidly decide to stop attacking and lock it down the entire third instead, à la Stars, then we’ll have a chance LOL.

Seguin is leading all Stars forwards in ice time by a decent margin. He's at 14:42 through two periods. He's played four more minutes than Hintz or Pavelski.

They're the line that's been trapped in there own zone for extended shifts. Once for two minutes and a second time for over three. He's gonna not roll that line in the fourth.Troy McClure wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 10:33 pm Seguin is leading all Stars forwards in ice time by a decent margin. He's at 14:42 through two periods. The Flames are saying the same thing about some of Oettinger's heroic saves. They know they should be up by a few at this point. The Frugal Gourmet wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 10:28 pm and it took a 5 on 3 to score. Even just a little offense would save us.

Yeah, and these shifts coming from a bad turnover or an evitable icing.
Still, the game has become too fast for Seguin.

Yeah, he's clearly trying. He's giving his all. He's trying to be physical. But he's late to most everywhere he needs to be. Probably time to stop playing him at center. He can't cover enough ice to do the job in the defensive zone.

I made this joke about Jagr one time when he was with Boston I think and the game went 4OTs and Jagr scored or assisted on the winner. The Frugal Gourmet wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 10:39 pmMaybe the game will get to quadruple ot and slow down enough for him.

There is no way. Bowness loves to make a point about how Peterson isn't physical enough.
Oh. And now Razor is saying Seguin is playing hurt. Of course. Being injured in the playoffs is going to be on Seguin's Stars tombstone.

Kinda nice the Flames made no effort to use their 3 on 1 to get Oettinger moving.

I think I prefer the penalty shot to the PP.

That was a very nice goal by Gaudreau, but that should not have been a penalty shot LOL.

Gaudreau getting a boost of confidence from this could be a problem.

Well, quite a bad timing for Öttinger's first 5-hole since a long time.
(BS call on the penalty shot, but Klingberg's hideous defensive game was responsible for it)

Breakaways have always been Oettinger's achilles heel. They should have tried that against him earlier.

The Stars are down two goals in the third, and the music guy is still trying to tee up a stupid fan sing-along? Read the room, dude.

The down by two turtle is the kind of coaching deserving of an extension.
