Finally caught up to real time.
Over the past few days, we had Bruce/Owen, Bob Sturm, and Mark Stepniski all taking to Twitter to defend Bowness. How did Bowness reward their trust? The Stars start super flat, take a bench minor, and we see Radulov not only get dressed but promoted to the top PP unit. Sigh....
Poor Seguin. He tried to be physical going in for hits, and I think at least twice the end result was him bouncing off someone and crumpling painfully.

I also love how Bowness had the team practice with the Raffl-Faksa-Glendenning line broken up, but Bowness put them back together for this game. That's some real gamesmanship. I'm sure Calgary was really thrown off.

Every “decent” look we get on the PP is fucked by an unnecessary extra pass (that gets cut off) ...

I think the NHL told the refs to call everything but gave a wink at “everything.” It’s been heavy but bonkers tonight.

The power plays have not helped the Stars generate chances. Mostly a lot of fiddling around at the blue line.Knives Out wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 11:17 pm Every “decent” look we get on the PP is fucked by an unnecessary extra pass (that gets cut off) ...

If my hotel room at Choctaw isn't raining hot chicks, can I sue for false advertising?

This is really just the best the Stars can hope for with a close, low scoring game.

I’ve wondered why those women are dressed like they’re in Monte Carlo when they are in Durant Oklahoma and their dates are probably wearing overalls.Troy McClure wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 11:34 pm If my hotel room at Choctaw isn't raining hot chicks, can I sue for false advertising?

Completely outclassed in the first period.
Better defending and possession the 2nd and 3rd periods, but generated almost no scoring chances of note. Markstrom didn't have to make any difficult saves.

Overall the Stars didn’t look awful, they just looked like an old and has-been version of Calgary. The Flames are so good. I wish the Stars played like that.

At least we looked good locking down that 0-1 lead.

Bowness was able to get the Stars to hold the Flames to their lowest shot total in the third where the Flames only had six shots. The Stars really locked down that one goal deficit.
Yes, the Stars only had three shots in the third. Why do you ask?

Our power play only works on teams that sit back and block passing lanes.
We’ve got no answer for aggressive PK. Pressure our guys and they just send the puck around the perimeter from one puck battle to the next. They’re going have to skate the puck around and create space for themselves if they want something different.

On the morning optimism front, Oettinger played a great game. Even if the shot count against wasn't super high, he still had a lot of activity to deal with because of how much the Flames had the puck down low. He never looked tired or out of position.

The Stars improved each period, but yeah, that's lock it down hockey, from both teams.

The Flames are a lot better at locking down, though.
