04/27 vs Coyotes (7:30 CT) - Chasing the loser point

Post by Troy McClure »

All the Stars need is one point to get into the playoffs, so we know what Bowness will be preaching: zero zero tie, baby!

Wedgewood starts.

The Coyotes are starting Harri Säteri, a 32 year old Finnish goalie drafted in 2008 who will be playing his 14th NHL game. He'd mostly been a KHLer in recent years, but he quit his team when Russia invaded Ukraine. He then signed a cheap deal with the Leafs who were dealing with a bunch of injuries, but the Coyotes claimed him off of waivers.

Well. Like all terrible teams, they've kicked our ass at least once already this season. I'd say it will be tough.

Also a second back-to-back game for Arizona who suprisingly beat Minnesota in St. Paul yesterday.

Roussel said earlier in a interview on TVA Sports that he'd love to see the Knights miss the playoffs. So Antoine, allez-y relax ce soir.

Pretty much guarantees he gets his first NHL shutout.

So apparently the Coyotes have 3 first round draft picks and 5 seconds this year, so besides tonight's shutout they might be pretty good in five years.

This means the trade deadline could be pretty exciting in six years when those guys all need new contracts.

I looked up these picks. The two extras they have in the first round are from Colorado and Carolina. The three extra second rounders are from Philly, San Jose, and NYI. This means the Coyotes are going to draft six dudes over a span of 15-20 picks going from the late first round to early second round.

That's an impressive chance to land a couple of good guys, a couple of Dickinsons, and a couple of guys to spend their careers on their AHL team.

That might be Robo’s goal. Gotta love how they never cut to the overhead cam first when it would immediately solve things.

Seguin is going to ask to stay with Robertson and Pavelski.

I saw three different angles. Best I can tell is Seguin and Stralman both tried to kick at it, and the puck squeezed from between their blades into the net. But that’s only a guess.

So Sätërï, who got the gold in the winter games, is .822 / 5.88 GAA before this game. He's keeping pace.

The Stars are being outplayed in terms of playing hockey, but this poor goalie of theirs is terrible.

Yeap, the lazy Stars are fully in mission except Wedgewall, fully capitalizing on the Coyotes' turnovers.

Looked to me like it squirted out from being squeezed between Seguin’s and Stralman’s skates without any kicking motion.

Yeah they finally showed the overhead angle well after the goal was scored and it’s definitely Seguin’s.

Great shot from Miro, and it looked like the goalie was ducking a bit worried about the shot coming at his head.

Coyotes are puppies again. I don't remember the last time the Stars were ahead by three and still dominating.

Now that the game is decided, my money is on a Jamie Benn goal in the third to make it look like he’s involved.
