I was mostly resigned to the fact that the Stars were going to make the playoffs, but blow your final game in hand tonight, and it's back to a tossup.

I don't think the Stars squeaking into the playoffs keeps Bowness around. Some national hockey media dude said he thinks Bowness will retire after the season no matter what.

I get it. It doesn't look like Bowness is enjoying this job. No coach ever sounds happy, but he's sounded especially frustrated with how he talks about the team. Some coaches like Torts are jerks, but that's not Bowness. He's been prickly this season, and that's not him. He's been a bit defensive when asked about lineup decisions. After losses this season, he's blamed the players more than he ever did the prior two seasons. The team was *poo poo* last season, but he handled it better. I guess maybe the expectations for this season ramped up the stress as well.

And he's not a good head coach. I think that's been exposed more, and probably gotten to him.

Eh, cleaning house is not gonna do anything to relieve the team of 2 huge underperforming contracts. Maybe another coach gets a little more out of this group, but without $ or contracts to trade, no make over in sight. I'm sure every player knows this as well.
