PT sucks. I'm gonna watch till the first shot against. If the Nucks score, I'll quit. If Öttinger stops it, I'll quit too.

Meh, JFK in place of Peterson. He's probably very tired.

I still remember when the Stars played the Ducks in the playoffs and I lived in NYC ... OT effing sucked. Also, I would be really pissed off because the Stars invariably lost every OT and couldn't get to sleep at 4AM anyway because I was so wound up. 0 sleep for me that week.

Stupid Modano. And Turco. Or whoever was on that team. I forget.

The other big lineup change is moving Studenic up to the second line with Benn and Seguin and putting Gurianov on the 4th line with Radulov and JareyouevergoingtoFuckingscoreagainK.

Bowness is a man full of ideas.

Also, the Stars called up Fredrik Karlström from the AHL, but he's being scratched. He can sit with Harley in the press box and not get game experience.

Lots of action with Radulov on the ice. In their own end, he got lost halfway playing D and was standing in the middle of nowhere when the Canucks score. Then on the PP, Radulov drives toward the net before dropping a perfect pass to Hintz.

This Benn-Seguin-Studenic line lost the puck five times in their own end, including Studenic putting it behind the net for no reason. Good stuff.

Oettinger also having a *poo poo* game.

Robertson’s wonderful pass from the corner to the slot … wasted by going to Glendening.

was

It was.

Maybe we’re seeing why Wedgewood got the starts against the better teams in recent games.

Oettinger hasn’t faced a playoff team since playing the Oilers on March 22nd.

Since the trade, Oettinger has a pedestrian .905 save %. Wedgewood in that same time is .917 while he’s also faced much tougher competition.

I think this workload is wearing on Oettinger.

Best part of this third period was watching the woman behind Bowness get shocked at her masssive tab.

The Dick scored, so I guess it's those days where you'd better stay in bed.

But Vegas had the decency to lose too, so it's not that tragic. For now.

I'm just glad noted defensive liabilities Harley and Peterson didn't play. Things could've gone south fast if they had.

From Bowness:

https://theathletic.com/3257717/2022/04 ... rformance/
“We’re putting Kivi in; he hasn’t played much. We need some energy tonight,” Bowness said. “Sometimes, the game gets a little rich for Petey at this time of the year, the intensity and the speed. There are times he can handle it, there are other times he’s still learning a lot about this league. Now you’re down to the last seven games, everything cranks up.

“This team tonight (Canucks), they’re looking at this as their season. This is going to be a very intense hockey game. Very physical game. Petey just needs a little more experience at handling these situations. Putting (Luke Glendening) in there (from winger to center), you ice the puck, we’ve got reliable centermen at all four lines.”
Peterson needs more experience in these types of games so...he gets sat down. That makes perfect sense.

He was on a 7 game invisibility streak, so maybe he did need a game to reset.

Easy to be invisible when you're getting 5 to 9 minutes a game.

Vegas lost too. Get the Mission Accomplished aircraft carrier ready, they'll back their way into getting swept in the first round and that'll be good enough to hang the banner and deploy some nice D Magazine articles about how the Stars are elite.
