As much as you always pull for kids playing over vets, not signing Perry let that happen. Robertson played and was awesome. He probably got PP time sooner because Perry wasn't on the roster. Of course, once you get past Robertson, the other young forwards were ... not good. Like really not good. More like terrible. Gardner, Caamano, Dellandrea, and L'Esperance were so bad.
True, and it's not like we were going anywhere this season anyways. I still have high hopes for Dellandrea, but those other three... maaaaaybe Caamano will amount to a third line grinder. Gardner always seemed to be on the ice for crucial goals against, despite playing just 7 minutes a game.
We'll see about Diamani and maybe even Borque next season. They're scorers, tho, so it's unlikely they or Harley will ever see significant ice time under the current regime.
I'd say the history tells us scorers get ice time.

Perry did a whole lot of nothing all regular season and everyone was wanting to get rid of him immediately. Same for Pavelski, who was also lackluster. Then they both had strong playoffs in the bubble and we had to admit that Nill is a good GM.

MTL is already and literally planning the Cup parade.

Insufferable dumbasses.

Spoiler: every team that gets to the second round has to at least partly start planning a cup parade. Street closures and permits and all that municipal crap take months, they can rarely be done overnight. Now, whether or not you should let such plans leak or not is another issue.

Given past experiences with Canadian teams getting their asses handed to them in the finals, I suppose this doubles as the blueprint for which stores will be looted and which streets will have their cars overturned and burned.

Does anyone really believe planning a parade affects the outcome of a 7 game series or two.

It's fun to say yes because it gives an outlet for anger.

Grubauer also sucks/is overrated. Him being nominated for the Vezina this year is the equivalent to nominating Roman Turek for the Blues in 2000.

I still think Tampa could sweep both of these teams.

Aves had a 2-0 lead in the series a 2-0 3rd period lead in game 3. Just sayin.

He's clearly turned into a nice 3rd line winger, but Colorado really has very little beyond their first line.

Nish was fantastic, all over the ice, stealing pucks, setting up teammates, and whiffing on grade-A scoring chances in front of the net.

Side note: Avs fans think Nichushkin should get Selke consideration.

That last season here still might be the worst display of quitting I’ve ever seen from a pro athlete.

Also, this was a funny line by a fan: “In Nichushkin's case, you miss 100% of shots you do take.”

A quick search of "nishushkin + selke" turns up a lot more articles than I'd expected. Most of them from stathounds who see his otherwordly advanced stats and gush harder on him than I did in 2014.
Here's a good one that also sneaks in a slap in the face at the Stars:

This is what happens when a guy looks at one stat and decides he's figured everything out. The system in Dallas wasn't why Nichushkin was awful. He was awful because he hated it here and didn't try.

So you're saying he was a great defensive forward without even trying? That's pretty high praise.

Nothing in the article suggests he was any good in Dallas.

No respect for the guy for this. Morrow-esque phoning it in that was.
