Didn't we struggle to score? I realize almost everyone does, but...

Robertson is our big time scoring acquisition, it’s just that he showed up in a year when several of our other important scorers were injured. If everyone is healthy we have two full scoring lines. If Gurianov gains some consistency then we have three scoring lines.

With JFK and *checks notes* Ben Gleason signed today, our only remaining loose ends (signing wise LOL) are:

Cecconi, Mascherin, Rosburg, and Vatanen.

I'd bet the over on those numbers. I don't know how many of the over 30 guys make it through the season healthy, but it will probably be more than this recent season. I also think we'll see better play from guys like Klingberg and Lindell due to the schedule relaxing and them not being tasked with playing big minutes four games a week.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

Meh, we are consistently disrespected, which makes it funnier for when we make the Final again LOL.

I think the “old guys” being healthy is a secondary benefit; the primary benefit of being healthy is having Roope in his prime. He and Robertson and whoever are essentially our top line now. Our former top line isn’t going to produce at a point per game anymore but they can probably do .5 - .6 ppg. That’s decent enough output that opposing teams will have to at least expend a few thoughts on matchups.

Will Hintz be as fast post-surgery? Will Robertson avoid the patented Niko Kapanen sophomore (and rest of career) slump?

I still like our defense and I think offense flows from defense in this league.

Will Robertson avoid the sophomore 15(lbs)?

Imagine how bad Oettinger is going to be during his sophomore slump.

Lost in the burning woods for the last three weeks, it appears that I missed some terrific news in the front of the expansion/draft and FA market, and also about the Stars.

First thought: Great there isn't any age cap in the League, otherwise the Stars would be in huge trouble.

Getting 10 picks in an all-gamble draft year? Meh... At least we got Roulette, and that's the best news ever. I mean, Roulette. This is something. I already plan to purchase my next #6 Roulette invisible Stars jersey as both a 6-bullet barrel and Julius Honka tributes.

So we were due to lose either Oleksiak or the Dick, I'm glad to see we lose both for a 3rd rounder. Ok. Like my ex-girlfriend told me, "get your *poo poo* together, I'm going to grab another dick". So Glendening it is.

And Brayden Holtby. Yeah, great idea to stack the goalie roster spots. I think that's a way to solve the predicted 49 moral victories pending to our nose for the next season.

And then Ryan Suter. Ryan *fargin'* Suter. Facepalm. For 4 years > double facepalm. With a full *Dang all Get out* no-everything clause package > triple facepalm. I got it, that's a way to make Comeau look McDavid on fentanyl but still. That guy is gonna turn all of us mad in front of our screen. Ok I'm a bit harsh but no mistake will be allowed on a second PP unit when you put an overloaded snail on skates in that situation.

Finally, Hakenpää. Probably the addition I dislike the least. An upgrade on the 3rd pair comparing to Fedun/Hanley.

Jeff Marek said on the 31 thoughts podcast:

“I would not be surprised at all if come opening night it’s Anton Khudobin, starting netminder, Edmonton Oilers.”

EDM is currently running with Smith and Koskinen again LOL.

I was sure my full-vaccination QR code could provide me some extra 5G but it wasn't the case. I severely blame my Albertan redneck relatives that made me believe that. Besides that, life is a question of choices. For example I awkwardly ran into Tom Wilson a couple of days ago in a touristic brewery in southern QC and I hardly wanted to tell him face-to-face what a worthless piece of garbage he was. However, it was still preferable to avoid making a fuss in this nice place and I kept my mouth shut for the good of everyone. So that's probably why I'm still alive.

I don't think I would recognize Tom Wilson if I saw him on the street.

Even hardcore hockey fans wouldn't recognize probably 90% of the NHL if they encounter them in the wild. Having said that, my boys recognized Brett Ritchie at the DMV several years back when they were getting their drivers licenses. Yes, we are that family. :D

Good thing there’s no shooting accuracy test to get a drivers license

Rosburg and Cecconi re-signed LOL.

That only leaves Mascherin, and seeing where Vatanen ends up.

Mascherin signed a deal to play a year in Sweden. Safe to say, he's not in the team's plans going forward.

Well then. Let's trade Khudobin for a pick, and call it an off-season LOL.
