Stars are officially eliminated. And Robo is now 8-points back with 5 less games played.

That’s too hefty of a deficit to overcome.

The weight of this loss will be difficult to overcome.

The Stars have only made the playoffs 50% of time during Nill’s tenure. And they have recent misses, too, so it’s not like they missed three consecutive seasons early on for high draft picks.

Remind me again why everyone thinks he’s so good at GM’ing?

Because he was the assistant in Detroit when they were awesome and because he got lucky with Seguin.

The problem is, the old Detroit model doesn't work anymore and he hasn't really pulled off much else in the way of trades.

It's time to move on. It was time to move on in 2017. But, we all know that isn't happening.

We've dicussed this before, like most thins. He hasn't been bad, but he hasn't been good either. Just an average GM who has done some good things and had some good draft picks, but also a lot of bleh in there too. His latest miss is signing Dobby to a 3 year deal.

I would say another way to view him is that if he were fired then would another team hire him? If not, then that tells you he probably isn't worth keeping.

Full disclosure: I had high hopes for the final GDT of the season. I honestly thought that we wouldn't be eliminated until tonight LOL. I even reached out to Jay Mohr on CAMEO (he is unfortunately not taking any bookings at the moment). And this was going to be my playoff avatar:

Oh well. There's always next year ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

The bits that never end up happening are sometimes the funniest. You get full credit here, but your only reward is my only GDT of the year.

On the Ticket, Julie talked a bit about the Stars season winding down. Her husband is the Stars video coach who has been there for a decade. Apparently, most times his contract is up, Nill or the prior GM had come to him during the season to work out an extension. This season, there's been nothing, so it sounds like he's going into this off-season unsure of his future.

Makes you wonder if he's going to be a cost cutting victim or if the team is actually thinking about changing out Bowness and wants to wait to further commit to the other coaches until they figure out their head coach situation.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

We're talking about Kelly Forbes here yeah? I'm sure Cody Bateman can just get him a job in Seattle LOL.

Would've loved to hear Jay Mohr ask why you want him to discuss Action and say Fat Hapa.

Kelly Forbes is the one coach they should keep. He can nail a video review and coach's challenge.

Looks like the injury Hintz was fighting through was a groin muscle injury. Surgery is needed.

I guess this eliminates the covid excuse for why Miro’s numbers weren’t better.

I only see five Red Wings practicing a scrimmage in that clip and then one of them goes down.

I really don’t think there’s a wrong choice between Kaprizov and Robertson.

If I understand correctly, the left red-blue charts depict the global cell activity with no vaccine, the right brownish ones show the same cell activity 28 days after a mRNA vaccine administration.
