Maybe Vegas is losing on purpose so they won't get embarrassed by Tampa.

Actual Paraphrase:
"And a shot and VASSILEVSKY WHAT A SAVE!!!! Some guys combine athletic ability with OTHERWORLDLY hockey sense, and Vassilevsky's got both! You can see from this replay, look at that extension, wow, the puck was going across the crease there and maybe wasn't going to go in, but wow, Vassilevsky doing what he can to keep this game 5-1."

Binnington just couldn’t recapture the magic from last year’s run. In fact, we may as well just say it: He was bad. Not streaky, not inconsistent… bad. His final stat line includes an .851 save percentage and 4.72 GAA. Those are numbers that would get you benched in the 1980s, let alone today.

But maybe most impressive of all, he claimed a spot next to Wayne Gretzky’s 92 goals and Bobby Orr’s +124 on the list of virtually unbreakable hockey records by becoming the first goalie in NHL history to finish a postseason 0-and-5.

If Nelson decided to call it a night, I wouldn’t blame him.

Yeah. That was incredibly unnecessary from Killorn.

Is it just me or does Tampa look almost as bad as the Stars did last night?

Sometimes the other teams in the conference finals are actually good - funny how that works.

Tampa was certainly having a hard time up against the Islanders' best effort. Tampa taking a number of dumb penalties sure looked familiar, but the difference is Tampa survived it better. Some of that is no doubt thanks to them having a potential back to back Vezina winner in net.

They were making unforced errors and bad passes too. I expect that from the Stars, but from Tampa? They were lucky the Isles mailed it in on that 5-on-3.

Rumour has it that Lehner signed a 5x5 extension and that Vegas is waiting until after the playoffs to announce it. Hopefully this means his motivation is gone now LOL.

If the Isles drag this out, we may lose all our momentum.

And Laviolette is off the list.

(In fact, we don't care anymore as Bowness will be back next season)

At this point it would be difficult to get someone else. The draft is only a few days after the playoffs.

I still don't think Bowness is gonna take the job. This was fun and I think he'll be done after.

TVAS brought up some news about Bowness who has full support of his family in case he'd want to be back. Apparently, coaching is his thing and he would consider removing the interim part of this job title. Knowing that he has a green light on the personal side and Nill being in favor of his return, the ball is on his side.

I'd say 50/50.

I'm with Frugal, he's gone, especially if he wins. Next season will not be in the safe bubble. He's had his due, he has a family and he values his time left with them.

Maybe the most likely scenario of him coming back is where the Stars just barely lose and he wants another crack at it.

I still don't want him as a long-term coach. Over the course of a full season, I think his deficiencies will be much more glaring and hurt the Stars in the long run. That said, I don't think there is a single person in hockey who doesn't love him, and he is by all accounts perhaps the nicest guy in hockey. So maybe that's what the team needs for the bubble, and I hope he gets his trophy. It would be one hell of a closer to a career.
