Guys are taking whatever is being offered to get locked into income at this point. I can’t find it now, but I saw a tweet that there’s like a $100M difference between the combined salary from last year of all free agents and all current available cap space. Lots of fringe players are going to get left out in the cold.

I saw one guy's contract was two years with it split up as $900k and $1.1 million. Probably smart since the owners are likely to demand a massive salary cut for this season.

Since it is only 1 season, I wonder what Stars have offered... I know, some of you do not like Janmark, but I'd rather would have kept him.

Guys like Janmark tend to have a short shelf life, so I’d be surprised if they made an offer. Same situation as with Sceviour and Garbut. Those types of players need to play at a very high energy level to be successful, but that energy tends to drop off dramatically in their late 20s.

Janmark was way better than Sceviour or Garbutt. His PK alone was a great reason to keep him. But the Stars could not afford to keep Janmark and it does open a spot for a youngster.

The Stars can't afford Janmark at that salary, and Kiviranta fulfills the same basic role for a lot less. And if we're going to talk about depth players, I think Pysyk is a much better overall depth player than Janmark, at a much better price.
