Cooper might be a better coach who focuses on winning instead of not losing, too.

I could blather about this endlessly, but they always seem to know where each other are, and even when we win pucks along the board there's always a guy right there to scoop it up. They've scouted us and are beating our predictable and primitive "hack at the puck along the boards" style.
Nothing about us is that predictable and we just won 14 playoff games with some amazing transition in there.
Tampa Bay is just more amazing.

Are the Stars going to hit double digits in shot attempts?

You know, I'm not sure what the fancy stats say, but Lindell has been rather forgettable in his play compared to what I expected from him. Not great positioning and giving it away in the zone a bunch.

The injuries just finally caught up to them. I applaud the fight they’ve shown this entire run, it’s more than I thought they had in them. But they’re used up.

Time to protect the 2-goal deficit!

Nill should take this second intermission to announce a 7 year extension for Bowness.

They’re a machine. It seems like everyone knows exactly what to do all the time.
It's almost like they give up nothing with their aggressive forecheck. They can have maximum puck pressure on us and we have nowhere to go with the puck but throw it out, yet if we finally manage a good little play to get it out there is still somehow 4 dudes back. ugh. they are so good.

I don't think Bowness is gonna live that long.

You almost never see them making bad passes or fumbling with the puck either. No area passes, everything tape to tape. It’s what you get when you have players with both ability and high hockey IQ.

It may be time to admit that Tampa Bay is extremely good at hockey.

That's bullshit tho. They've literally spent 40 minutes punting on 1st-and-10. You could not possibly draw up an easier game for Tampa.
Our only hope is that Tampa goes into a defensive shell, but will it even matter if we're just dumping pucks into the zone without a single forward to pick it up? This is the strategy I would use against my 8 year old if I got up by 3+ goals in NHL '20.

I don’t think most of these dump ins are coaching. Most dump ins are guys not having the legs to skate it past closing Tampa defenders. They’re dumping it to avoid turning it over in the neutral zone because they’re getting badly out skated.

I cannot think of a single time in the game when the Stars could've skated it and chose to dump it except for all those times when they were just bringing it down for a change because they spent 45 seconds in their own zone. which admittedly is a lot of the time.
They are dumping it because they have no choice. Tampa is kicking their ass and they have no time or space.

I’m not sure when they were near enough to the offensive zone to dump it in. They just kept turning the puck over.
