Shouldn’t they be calling up Meh-reuther instead of doing something as risky as playing Honka in back to back games?

Niemi in net for the Habs. 3rd straight game, I believe.

I know this will open up a can of worms, but isn't it a little amazing that Niemi is still in the league and Kari isn't? (Yeah, yeah, yeah, go ahead and *poo poo* on Kari - but I think he could have been an ok backup somewhere if he got a fresh start in the right situation)

I would guess Kari got offers but he must've turned them down to be with his kids... and maybe save his head from more concussions. `

Like last year?
Listen, man, he doesn't even have a job in Europe. Let it go. Everyone in the world but you thinks he sucks *poo poo*.
That Hanzal's so hurt right now.

I think you missed the "fresh start" part of the comment. Yeah, having Bishop be the starter should have helped (and it did for a while), but the same rink, same faces, same contract all resulted in a mental block for him.
As for the not having a job in Europe thing, why would he go to Europe? He's at the tail end (well, end) of his career, made a shit-ton of money and has young kids who have grown up in the US (and for all I know are in school here). He doesn't need the money - why go play in a lesser league at this point in his life?

Kari was a perfect backup last year until he had to be the starter when Bishop got injured. If a team has a good starter that isn't prone to injury, Kari is probably a decent backup for them. At least for another few years until he is too old.

Carrick definitely has some rust. Also, Honka is still Honka.

Great leech goal from less than 5 feet.

Blolz. Benn and Seguin on the ice for the goal against that loses the game. Think Lites got another "WTF?" text?

Heiskanen mailed it in on that last goal.

That’s all just speculation.
Fact: no NHL team signed him. Not even the Flyers.

On the broadcast last night Razor said Kari is going to announce his retirement soon. Also that he is building a house. Not sure where, but maybe he decided to not move his family and didn't accept an offer from just any team. Or no team offered him anything.

Jeff Petry, Dan Petry’s son, coming from behind, blew by Seguin.

I could be mistaken, I thought Razor said Turco was building a house.

Check out the buildup tho. The puck gets by Heisky, who's flatfooted and slow to turn around (very uncharacteristic). The forward gets there first, Heiskanen struggles to keep up, and then can't defend the pass. I SUSPECT Seguin thought Heisko was going to get that ouck, and only when it became clear he wouldn't, that he went full bore to catch up to Petry (too late!).

I wasn't really sure. They showed a picture of Turco in the box when I heard the house building comment.

Kari lives in Dallas with his family. He probably got offers, but nothing he felt worth relocating or leaving the family behind for at this point.
Slaps has upvoted BKat.

Seguin is definitely not as fast as he used to be before the calf/heel/ankle injuries.

True, but when I was watching it live it just seemed like Seguin maybe expected Heiskanen to be perfect, as usual, and when he wasn't, it was too late.
True Fact: even Seguin in his prime wasn't as fast as Hot Dog Kessel.
