Seguin needs to ignore battling along the boards. I know watching him do that made Hitchcock harder than a hitching post, but Seguin should be scoring goals, not battling along the boards.
Turns out Kelly Kapowski is the answer to everything.

Also: the only two guys who scored goals tonight combined for 12 shots on net. Benn/Seguin combined for 3. Maybe more net drive and fewer dipsy doodle fairy passes?
At home they seem more aggressive after a goal. On the road I think it’s by design to shell.

He’s clinging to leads for the same reason Tippett did with the Coyotes: he doesn’t believe his guys are capable of scoring more than two a game. He’s been handed low talent roster and is coaching accordingly.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

Also, am I allowed to say Gurianov had a bad game? He looked really soft out there. Got pushed around or off the puck too easily. He had the one nice puckjack early on but otherwise wasn’t a factor. If he wants to stay in the NHL, he needs to be more active.

That same description could also be applied to Benn, Seguin and Radulov for the game too. Granted, I only listed to the first in the car and was a little distracted with work the rest of the game, but I barely heard their names.

That's what I was implying with my post. He needs to be the one available to either make another pass or take a shot. He's not going to break out of his slump with board battles.

Both of these teams have been struggling. Nashville shot pretty much til it dropped and Dallas just defended pretty well. It would have been nice to see more possession, but against these guys, it’s just not gonna happen. I’ll happily take good defense and keeping them on the perimeter. Khudobin was great. He moves around like a crazy man, but he makes the saves, and did a great job of limiting the rebounds, especially early.
Man we needed that win and those two points. Now let’s not play down to our next opponent.

Also enjoyed the graphic that showed Jack Campbell with the fifth-lowest GAA in the NHL, right behind Bishop.

I was surprised by that. 13 games played. 5 Wins and 7 Losses. So... eh?

Razor immediately said "well, Rinne and Bishop are the only two that are true starters" as though that really matters at long as the number of games played is there. That really only takes Campbell off the list, so I'm not sure his point of that comment.

Nice to see him play well and find his way to the NHL. Always sounded like a good guy who suffered from confidence problems.

And lack of an AHL goalie coach.
Too bad he's stuck with the Kings, who are a tire fire.

So apparently the Stars gave up 49 shots and 89 total chances, but only 8 actual high-danger chances, and only three chances from rebounds.
Which jibes with the eyeball test, where Nashville was launching tons of shots from distance and getting a bunch of one-and-dones. Nice to be on the other side of that for a change.

Could you imagine Kari Lehtonen in net last night? The Predators might have set a record for goals scored in a game.

Considering there were 20 shots from Perds d-men, that works out to be 15 goals against just right there.
