Re: Texas Stars and prospects thread
So apparently Robertson was instructed by the team to spend the summer in Toronto training with Gary Roberts because he really let himself go after being drafted and got really *fargin'* fat ...
Not uh, not a good sign.

He did what they told him, and it looks like it’s paying off, so let’s see.

Fat Ass scored twice yesterday, including a breakaway, so maybe they should stuff him with more pasta and twinkies.

Round-up of the Traverse City Tournie. Apparently Heiskanen, Hintz, and Robertson stood out, with Lard Ass Robertson putting up 9 points in 4 games:

Apparently he dropped 30 to 40 pounds, but still looks kind of slow?

I'm so glad we signed Dellandrea to his ELC today only to send him back to the OHL with Robertson.

Does he burn a year of ELC by staying in juniors?
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

No, I don’t think so. I believe he has to play in a professional league (AHL / ECHL / NHL) to burn years on the ELC.
Edit - it does not burn a year. Knives is just being overly bitter.
The NHL's Collective Bargaining Agreement allows for nine games at the start of the regular season when a player on his entry-level contract can be evaluated. A prospect who plays for any team in the Canadian Hockey League (which includes the Ontario Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Western Hockey League) can be returned to his junior team at any point before the player dresses for his 10th game without his contract kicking in (thus beginning his NHL service and getting him to free agency quicker). The player is not eligible to play in the American Hockey League because of an agreement between the NHL and CHL that prohibits 18- and 19-year-old prospects from playing in the AHL.

I love first round picks who overachieve at the junior level. With any luck this guy could be the next Steve Ott.

Re: Texas Stars and prospects thread
Mascherin was among the guys sent down today. He didn't even get one preseason game. Looks like the hope the Stars stole a pick in the fourth round was all over nothing.

Jason 'Fat Piece of *poo poo*' Robertson has 8 goals in his first 7 games.
Not only does that lead the OHL, but outpaces the entire rest of his team, who have combined for 6 goals so far.

Now look up the stats on the most recent first round pick.
