More icings than shots on that power play.

Best first period so far this season? Not saying it was great, but it wasn't bad.

Despite two or three flashes, a first period as interesting as the canadian chiefs' debate.

Screw the projected line-up, things are all mixed up again. But I like the energy of the 4th line tonight, doing a great job.

And the turnover award for today goes to Sekera.

Seriously, Harley can do just as well, right? I don't understand sometimes the leash they give vets.

What a beautiful first goal. Great attack led by Benn, nice pass to Klingberg in the left-wing who directly redirected the puck to Paveski for a fantastic tip-in. Carried like always by its leaders, the Stars...

Oh wait...

Why the *f-bomb* are the five Stars rushing like headless chickens in attack, Benn being the last guy behind while still trying to go on a suicidal one-on-one.

If you see those things in some kids league, you are screwed on the bench for the rest of the game.

It’s easy to steal the puck from Benn because he keeps trying to glide through traffic. He needs to keep moving his feet.

That’s on Monty. Everyone knows Benn sucks in the shootout.

So 0-2 when protecting a third period lead? Or is it 0-3?

Responsabilities split-up: Benn did the intergalactic error on the tying goal by the Flames while sucking almost all the game (Hintz did all the job on his goal)

The penalty on Pavelski, that started their come back was pretty weak. Still, can’t let up like that. At least we got a point.

Pavelski is starting to look more and more like the player I remember from SJ which is a good sign.

That was a damn frustrating loss as the Stars played their best game from the beginning of the season. They create good scoring chances, the transition defense-offense was great with a lot of speed which was a major change compared to the previous games where they often seemed lost in the middle of the ice with no options. Bishop had a good game, Seguin, Radulov and Pavelski to a lesser extent start to find their game.

The individual error cost the game. Following the avoidable penalty by Pavelski, Janmark did a bad play on the right corner, was unable to clear the puck before being bad positioned on the goal. Three Stars players were then standing on the same side, opening a wide open door to the Flames. I won't come back to the Benn turnover and the general brain cramp that had the guys on the tying goal.

Sekera was awful, it took me a while to notice Hanley replacing Fedun. Some rookie mistakes but totally excusable. He had a good first NHL game and had a great look to set up L'Espérance's goal. I also liked the Caamano guy: hardworking, good cheking abilities with a lot of speed, a useful "backpack" for opponents as we used to call that kind of players. So far he deserves to remain on the team.

@Jim Montgomery (personal message): And Hintz, does he stink ?

At least we got the loser point :-|

Hanley played last year some when they were decimated by injuries. He's fine as a third pairing guy. Maybe you were thinking of Harley?

It was frustrating because they did do a way better job of generating actual scoring chances. Still the same issue of not really burying the chances they get.

a) Thank god for Bishop and Dobby - otherwise the Stars wouldn't even have 3 points.
b) I am so worn out on one-goal games already. When was the last time the Stars blew out an opponent?
c) Bye bye Samara Weaving, hello Jennifer Connelly

Well that's just stupid. Let's say Polak had been playing and scored his one goal for the season. You going to put him in the shootout? No. No you are not.

Yes, thank you. I edited my post and I think I will mix those guys for the rest of my life.

Pavelski had a couple of nice deflections. His backhand attempt on the PP was a smart move, but he put it too high. I'm not entirely sold on the idea of having him and Benn both in front of the net. It seems like the main outcome is reducing the passing options for the other three guys as they try to find open shooting lanes.

Heard Razor this morning talking about the "glue" the Stars lost when Comeau, Dickinson, and Polak got hurt. He's putting a lot of the season's slow start on those three being out. What crap. No team is floundering because they are without two 20-30 point forwards and their #6 d-man. None of the three play on the power play. All three play on the PK, and the PK is doing awesome without them.

Well he can't come on and say that Benn, Pavelski, and Klingberg have been *poo poo* and that's why their not doing well.
