NHL announced the Vezina finalists as Hellebuyck, Rask, and Vasilevskiy.

Bishop wasn’t going to beat out CH or TR this year, but he definitely deserved to be rated higher than AV (again).
That Hanzal's so hurt right now.

Find out the name of Seattle's team tomorrow morning.

I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

Did they really pick Kraken, or is that a joke?

No way the NHL would pick the coolest name.

Benn has a NMC and must be protected unless he waives the NMC.

I can't wait for breakout Kraken all star Radek Faksa to score six goals against the Stars in a couple seasons.

I enjoy that the Coyotes can't seem to be normal. But damn, what a press release:

https://theathletic.com/1953956/2020/07 ... e-coyotes/

Maybe it was the terse press release from the Coyotes confirming what had been in the air for days about John Chayka’s future with the team, a statement that didn’t venture anywhere near “has moved on to other opportunities, we wish him well” platitudes.

“John Chayka has quit as the General Manager and President of Hockey Operations of the Arizona Coyotes.”

Boom.

And just in case it wasn’t clear that, in the view of the organization, Chayka, who had three years left on his deal, according to The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun, abandoned the club at a critical juncture in its evolution, well, here was the next graph.

“The Club is disappointed in his actions and his timing as the Coyotes prepare to enter the NHL’s hub city of Edmonton, where the team will begin post-season play for the first time since 2012. Chayka has chosen to quit on a strong and competitive team, a dedicated staff, and the Arizona Coyotes fans, the greatest fans in the NHL.”

Boom.

Chayka sucks. Hopefully the Blues or someone hires him to trade away all their high draft picks and run the team into the ground.

If you were looking for reliability, maybe don’t hire a 24-year-old GM.

Coyotes fans are hardly the greatest fans in the NHL.

A lack of a dinner reservation contributed to Chayka’s decision to split the sheets, according to an NHL source.

Last week, three Coyotes executives not named Chayka met with Hall over dinner. Meruelo and new team President and CEO Xavier Gutierrez were there. So was Meruelo’s son, Alex Jr., who works in the front office as a “strategic advisor” for hockey and business operations.

Chayka found out about the meeting only afterward, according to an NHL source. That contributed to his decision to “terminate his contract” Friday morning, according to the source.

At least that’s one version of events.

Another one is that Chayka knew about the dinner, and in fact, set it up. That’s what another source told azcentralsports.com.

I expected exactly something like this when they hired a toddler to run their organization.

No knock against his age... there are plenty of GMs across the leagues who are kicking ass in their 20s and 30s. But he, specifically, has always been kindof a moron, at least when it comes to trades, free agent signings, and developing your high draft picks.
