Re: Hockey Twitterverse
I agree with Razor on this subject. The goalie is much more protected than a foward or dman. If the goalie comes out like that to play the puck, they should be fair game and in that context it was a fair hit.
EDIT: Actually, maybe not. I can't really tell if he went for the head or not because the video looks like it was shot with a Hi8 camcorder from 1995.

Re: Hockey Twitterverse
It would be charging even if it was on a d-man because the forechecker was striding all the way down and through the hit.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

For any of those who play hockey, this is pretty funny:
Why you’re taping your stick wrong (unless you’re taping it like me)

Not Twitter related, but looking for good recommendations for a couple of hockey or sports books for the boys for Christmas. Anyone read anything good lately?

Down Goes Brown's History of the NHL (now available in paperback).
Troy didn't care for it, but I enjoyed it! The tagline is "The World's Most Beautiful Sport, The World's Most Ridiculous League".
It's some funny *poo poo*.

I liked his prior book better.
Both of Ken Dryden's books are great. The Game and Home Game.

Yeah, I was about to mention Dryden's books.
Otherwise former canadian PM Harper also wrote a great book about the story of hockey and the NHL. Plus it is Trump-compliant. Win-win deal.

The Boys of Winter by Wayne Coffey is quite good.

This is pretty slick. Takes a brass pair - but really slick. Imagine if he banks it off the inside of his left skate into the goal.

With the way the d-man curled to that spot, I'm guessing they've practiced it a bunch. But you're right. I bet the coach crapped his pants a bit.

Ha! My son Ethan pointed out to me that is Anders Lindback, of the ten games in 2014-15 for the Stars fame.

Yeap, without practice and communication it may end up like this: (coming straight from my swiss hometown a couple of years ago where I had the chance to witness this with my own eyes)
