Stars 3-2 after two. Stars look strong but those plucky Wings have had some luck.

So the Stars finish second this year, falling 6-5 to the Wings in a game the Stars certainly should have won. We have a good cache of solid prospects in the pipeline. Much more than in years past. The team played relentless, which is Monty’s “style”. They were on pucks, lots of stick work. They played hard, offensively and mostly defensively. Oettinger should have made a couple of those stops late to preserve the win. But he didn’t. Also the multitude of players with break aways earlier in the game didn’t put them away.

Tufte, Dellandrea, Kirviranta, Djuse, Mascherin, Porco and Felhaber all have a good chance to play in the NHL one day, maybe even soon.
Not likely any real stars in there, but decent players. Harley, who did play a better game today, the jury is still out. Would have been nice to see something from Robertson, but maybe he will play to his competition in Camp. I believe this was Caamano’s 3rd tournament. He has displayed more charm in tourneys past. He wore the C and didn’t play poorly, but he’s a scorer and he didn’t finish on a few.

Detroit’s team was interesting. There was the Mannheim Steamroller, Moritz Sieder, #6 overall and he looked OK. Giovani Smith, Gemel’s brother, rabble-roused from the start. His schtick helped, unfortunately. And, The Joe Veleno, who led their comeback. Their goalie, who was tryout, was the number one star, IMO. Good for him.

Still, hard one to lose. Very good team.

And going out on a limb, Damiani might have the most skill of them all. He’s small, and only had one point, a goal today, but idk, I could see something in him.

Well, he WAS a 5th rounder, after all. The Golden Round.

Thanks J. Everyone seems to just love Harley. I could see his offensiveness, he was smooth, but when defending one on one, opponents got by and a few times, scored.
