Also, Waddell needs to challenge Bergevin to a fight in a barn.

Have you seen Bergevin? He's like 80% biceps now.

Lehner has signed with Chicago on a 1-year, $5m deal. Hopefully his success this last year was due more to the Islanders' system than his ability to stand on his head.

Considering they went from like near dead-last to first in defense under Trotz, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it was coaching.

The Leafs are making a lot of moves for a team that had a good season.

I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

And retaining salary? That baby Dubas is fleecing the other GMs. Ceci from Ottawa, then rid Kadri and get Barrie, plus. Good job.

Did they get rid of Kardi to make room for Spezza?

Kadri had worn out his welcome years ago. Barrie is a stud... and maybe a replacement if Gardiner signs elsewhere? Kerfoot is that tiny little *mama cuddlers* who always seems to score on us. Glad he's out of our division.

Good plan.

I can guarantee you that Bargainbin never had a Plan B, but yes I am still on board with this.

Nostalgia, Dubas probably idolized Spezza growing up.

Wait, so Edmonton and Calgary swapped backup shitty goaltenders? I wonder if both just cut-and-pasted the same lyin'-ass press release to their fans.

Also, we should bring in Thornton to complete the Old Slow Guy Fourfecta.

Yeah. Even he admitted it in his conference call about the signing that he's always been knocked for his skating.

But, even the slower modern NHL player isn't THAT slow. Not like Derian Hatcher or Dave Andreychuk.

Great. How are we ever gonna replace the speed of Ritchie and Spezza?

Donskoi will be a good signing. Spezza should do fine as a 4th-liner on a pretty stacked Leafs team.

By attaching jetpacks to Polak's skates?

The Islanders did not do well in free agency, and they really seemed determined to get Lehner to *f-bomb* off, which is rather confusing given that he wanted to stay, and is really good.

I... just don't get the Avs love. How did they get any better than last season? They're a 38-44 one-line team that just lost their starting goalie and #1 d-man. Do they expect MacKinnon to go off and put up 150 points or something?

Lehner is better than Varlamov. And Kadri isn’t terrible if they aren’t playing Boston.

Lehner's good, but his gaudy stats are likely a product of Trotz' system. Which he won't have in Colorado.

Lehner has some very good seasons on the Sabres. He was fantastic with Trotz’s system, but he was still really, really good on a bad team.

Lehner signed with Chicago. The starter in Colorado is Grubauer and the back-up now is some guy named Francouz.
