I kinda wonder if something about Kessel makes teams want to move him.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

Yeah but half their cap is Pronger, Datsyuk, and Hossa.

I thought the same thing, but Pronger and Datsyuk are off their books. They've got Hossa at $5.275m and a year of Riberio's buyout remaining at $1.944m

Several more small cap moves made today with buyouts. I don't remember teams being this active with buyouts in the past. These have mostly been depth players, too. Makes me wonder if GMs are deciding that the old veteran savvy isn't worth what it used to be.

It seems like there have been quite a few more trades this year.

I'd take him on for 2-3 years before trading him. He's productive AF, and hasn't missed a game in 9 years.

I'm still baffled by the choice to go to Arizona. Aren't there other options that have similar benefits like Dallas or TB?

5 years at $6MM? Thanks for the good memories, Mats, and more power to you for securing that deal. Glad its not from the Stars.

Yeah, as much as I love the guy, it's just not a smart deal for us. Too bad.

I can’t get specific, but I can say we are prepared to offer between $6.999 million and $7.001 million per season for more than two but fewer than four seasons.

Babcock and Spezza, doesn't seem like a fit. But Spezza and TO fans should be fun. :)

Stralman has been in decline these last few years. He used to be the darling of the advanced stats community, but now he's just a regular ol' liability. Dallas dodged a bullet here.. surprising, considering Nill's push this summer to get older, slower, and more expensive.

My two favorite signings of the day are the Jets dumping their #2 d-man Trouba to clear up enough space to overpay their #6, and the Preds dumping their #2 d-man Subban to clear up enough space to overpay for Duchene.
