Benn had a Cogliano-esque chance to end it there. Couldn't elevate.
Sucks that Heiskanen was the guy who got beat on the GWG. Hopefully he uses it as a Teaching Moment.

Wish they could have capitalized on their few opportunities, but I'm grateful I got to share this playoff season with my boys one last time while they are at home. Hockey is a weird game. Sometimes a bounce here or there makes all the difference. Amazing performance by Bishop .

Also, I missed Benn's beastmode game. Perhaps he forgot to put in the code at the start of the game?
Yeah, there are going to be a lot of changes in the offseason. The entire 4th line and bottom three d from will be gone next season, but not getting more than one goal from the top two lines hurts. More offense is needed.

Bishop deserves a chunk of everyone else's salary since he was the only one who showed up until ot.

Well *poo poo*. We need finishers. We just don’t have them. I’m resigning Zuch and giving him the instant A. Spezza walks and give Lindell the $$ he deserves. Pray that one of the D men get healthy and can return. Hintz can score 30 next year. Benn needs to go get his head right. Or get Jesus. Or something.

Good for you. Glad you have something in your life which makes you happy since it clearly isn't the Stars.

Maybe he needs to lose Jesus. I hear Jobu can help athletes.

It was a good run. Hopefully it’s the start of a consistent playoff run and not a one-off. For a team that wasn’t supposed to be very good, they didn’t do too bad at all.

I think with a somewhat experience Monty and not having to adjust to his system next year, they could be in a pretty high spot with home ice. But, there are some glaring issues that have to be addressed in the bottom 6 forwards and 3rd d pair first.

You know Nill is going to re-sign Polak and Lovejoy to long-term extensions, right?

Yeah, this. It sucks dong to go out on a fun run, but this team has consistently let us the down for a decade plus. We were convinced last year was the year. Everybody was ready to miss the playoffs 6 weeks ago. Damned near convinced of it. Montgomery is a coach. Don’t listen to Todd there. We need some pieces, but damned if we don’t have the core. We have pieces in the system, too. If this team can buy in on forechecking and tight D, and we just add half a goal per game, we are straight dangerous.

I’m OK signing Lovejoy. He’s a 3rd pair guy.

The bright spot tonight is that the conditional 2nd round pick for Zucc doesn’t become a 1st.
Could of.

Re: May 7th Game 7 Stars at Blues 7 pm
I don’t get the Montgomery dislike from certain people. He did fine for a first-year coach. He had moments where it was obvious he wasn’t experienced, but he also adapted. Of all the things he didn’t do right, he looked at the roster he had and adapted how the team played to make it fit the roster. We’ve had plenty of coaches who tried to force players into roles they weren’t suited for.
Overall, I think he did pretty well.

Binnington looks like he got stung by a hornet on the end of that schnozz.

We can’t keep both Fedun and Lovejoy because they’re both right shots. Two rights make a wrong.

I think Monty is fine too. He will get better with seasoning and the team will already be used to his style from the start next year.

I’d rather keep Polak if he’ll sign for the same, so long as we get another guy who pushes Polak down the depth chart some. I wouldn’t give Polak any kind of real raise, though.

Polak is fine depth. But, I def. don't want to see him on the 2nd pair again.
