Oh good. The Blues in the second round. That’s always worked out well for us.

Tight game, nice to come out on the right side. If Nashville had played this well earlier, they would have won more games.

So, St. Louis!

There's just something about the elimination game, though, you know? I had a feeling it was going to be one of Nashville's best games.

0 and 15 on the power play. As much as we *goddess* about ours, that’s....atrocious.

Also, Subban is little *goddess*.

I thought FOR SURE they were going to win a big game because we started to underestimate their PP.

But no.

That was truly a godsend I admit. Not a whole bunch of penalties in the series, though.

I'd say it was their best game. Dallas totally outplayed them for the majority of the series, until tonight, when it was pretty much even.

The Blues are basically the same as Nashville, except better. Although we seem to own their rookie phenom goalie this season, both in the NHL and the AHL.

I thought Nashville outplayed Dallas in game 2, but this game was tied with that.

Nevertheless, in both those games Dallas had at least 20 premium chances. We were never so dominated that we couldn't have won.

If we had lost, I don’t think I’d be super upset. Losing sucks, but the Stars played really well against a good team.

How many games in this series do we win if Lehtonen is our goaltender?

Maybe one, like game four. Assuming game four goes the same way.

We took them 7 games last time and could’ve possibly won with better goaltending.

Course both teams completely different now.

I think our PK% might drop in the next round though. Just a hunch.

Goaltending wins playoff hockey. And we have it now. We pushed a Blues team that didn’t look much different than this one to a game 7 in the 2nd round, with bullshit and overwatered Quickcrete in net. Bish has played 4 series clinching playoff games since his 2015 TB run. He’s 4-0 with a 0.29 GAA and .975 SA. There’s a reason those stats geeks were all googoo for Dallas’ chances. Keep Bishop healthy and we are on a run.

Awesome game. Can't believe these horseshit players won. Preds PP is hot garbage. Is Subban booing kinda racist? Does the AAC need to be demolished to build an arena with adequate amount of bathrooms?

But I have a real question that Scuba can maybe answer. I am a sad lonely man who stalks follows a few cute girls on IG. Somehow they all get seats, amazing seats, to these playoff games. Is there a secret connection for all attractive women in DFW? Rich daddies? Stars players hooking them up? I need to know.

Long story short: I stayed quiet these past two GDT’s out of superstition. And now that we’ve won the series, I can look you in the eye and say that the past two games filled me with white light.

Now beating Nashville was a pleasant surprise, but beating the Blues would be the epitome of satisfaction. I hate their online fans the most. Despite going 3-1 against them this season, we are already an easier match-up than the Jets, Binnginton > Bishop, and they dominated us the last time we met in the playoffs (in 7 games).
That Hanzal's so hurt right now.

Seven Dallas players made their NHL playoff debut this series.

When Miro Heiskanen wins a Norris Trophy someday, voters will look back at this series as the moment they realized just how good the Finn was.

In Game 6 Heiskanen played a game-high 32 minutes, 25 seconds. He played more minutes than any other player in this series, 159 minutes and 10 seconds. He’s second in the league in total ice time throughout the first round. He’s still 19 years old.

Great game.

Benn had a weird game of some great shots and some shitty, lazy plays that lead to turnovers (including the breakaway). He's best when he doesn't try to take extra time. Just make a decision with the puck and do it and he's way better.

Todd mentioned Lindell stayed out that whole penalty kill at the end. I noticed that. It's like he said "*f-bomb* it, I'll kill this *goddess* off". He didn't seem winded at all from it.

Comeau has been good. Once he got properly slotted onto the third line and they began to gel, his play improved. Overall though I'm still not excited about him for 2 more years.

Nichuskin won't see the ice in the second round unless there are injuries. *fargin'* hilarious failure by Nill.

Speaking of Nill... so hire Nill?

His moves over the last two years is a crazy mix of good and bad. Last summer actually might be one of his better offseasons overall, despite the bad miss on Nichushkin. Khudobin was a great signing. Comeau has become a good player. Best of all, the Polak contract is looking like one of Nill's best free agent signings. To get your #4 defender and one of your top penalty killers for all of $1.3 million was fantastic.

But... adding expensive injury prone guys like Hanzal and Methot were some bad desperation moves. Even though they both ended up on IR, they tied up a lot of cap space while they were trying to come back. Methot is a UFA this summer, which will help.

The Stars are going to have some dead money going into next season. Johns remains an unknown with his very unfortunate post concussion problems, so his $2.35 million cap hit could be carried all next season as dead money. Hanzal's $4.75 million will again be a hit against the cap during the summer's free agency period because he will not end up on LTIR until after the season starts. Niemi's buyout cap hit will roll off the books this summer to be replaced by Nichushkin's $700k buyout cap hit, so there's a bit of savings there.

You can go over the cap in the off-season, so as long as Hanzal and/or Johns hits LTIR prior to the start of the season, he can make moves.

As good a signing as Polak was, I really hope he goes after a real top-4 defenseman. Sounds like Myers and Trouba may both be available.

I was mostly trolling with that, but it's true that we were pretty great in the second half.
