How about him coming out of the box and being unable to build up any speed? He was so much more dangerous when he was fast.

Yeah. He has been a threat with speed since the Achilles.

Lovejoy literally has no idea where Grimaldi is at any time.

Basically this whole game is Ben Bishop and everyone else is waving pom poms.

I don't think that dude likes Comeau.

At least we got a point.

They got the first one, so that's all that really matters. Take care of business at home, and we are good.

As usual, no on-air mention whatsoever how Polak fucked up three times on that goal.

But he must be good at defending, because hockey is a pure meritocracy, right?

Polak with the goal off his face. Good game, unfortunate outcome, but it was quite enjoyable.

Polak is literally the worst defender in the entire 2nd pair.

He also stood straight-legged as the puck went through his legs on the entry. And let his guy score in overtime.

Overall, tho, we lost because we couldnt convert on six powerplays. Klingberg was dogshit. Seguin looks like Comeau, and Radulov can't seem to get *poo poo* going.

Well, they don’t have anyone else better to play, so what’s the point of complaining about him?

Even game. Even series. Can’t be too upset with a road split.

I’m not. Even the loss was an OT game. It’s not like the Stars got rolled.

Despite all the possession time and shots Nashville had, they weren’t exactly getting a lot of quality scoring chances. Unfortunately, the Stars weren’t either.

Oleksiak wouldn't have got hit in the face by that puck. Jus' sayin'.

Yep. That was a well played 2 games on the road against a really, really good team. Series on.

Seeing fans calling for a Spezza to come in to help the PP, so I did a little research. I was curious about how some numbers looked comparing the start of the season to how it ended.

Here are some xGF numbers for Spezza on the PP.

Oct-Dec – PP – forwards – min 10 PP minutes:
xGF/60 8.55 (best on the team
xGF/60 rel 4.6 (best on the team)

Since Jan 1st – PP – forwards – min 10 PP minutes:
xGF/60 6.87 (5th – behind Seguin, Hintz, Radulov, and Benn)
xGF/60 rel 0.11 (5th – behind Seguin, Radulov, Hintz, and Benn)

That’s a damn big drop off.

I think Dowling has been fine and that’s the option over Spezza. Dowling also has looked decent, small sample of course, on the 2nd PP. Being at home for the next games might sway in Spezza’s favor since Monty can better control who’s out against him. I think he stays with the same line up, but we’ll see.

That second unit has been amazing, actually. And a lot of it has been Dowling:

You know what’s better than shot attempts and high-danger chances? Goals.

Shots are POTENTIAL goals, which could potentially be better than actual goals.
