What a terrible 3 on 1. Klingberg needs to shoot it. Deferring back to Seguin killed any hope the rush had.

But also... Seguin sure still doesn’t have the explosive speed he used to. A few years ago, he’s behind the d there one on one.

Ha, they finally found slightly better quality footage to redo the BCBS commercial featuring Ribeiro’s shoutout.

I never get sick of that highlight. Budaj's reaction is what really makes it.

Add another name to the list of Stars to score a goal.

Nichushkin has to be the worst forward in the NHL. Christ.

Once again...he has no finesse or offensive hockey sense. He was drafted to be a bull in a china shop and never panned out. Time to move on.

That’s partly what sucks about the injuries to Pitlick and Dickinson. If they were healthy, the roster limit would force Nill to move on. Instead, the injuries allow Nill to delay the inevitable.

Still winning the corsi battle, but there still aren’t many quality scoring chances.

The thing about low percentage shots is some will go in.

He had multiple play enders in this game. That line may be nothing to write home about, but he is killing chances all by himself. That can't help.

That's three games' worth of goals right there.

Seriously, tho, I couldn't tell if our defense was awesome or the Wild were just unbelievably bad.

2nd best defensive team in the league. NYI first. I think that’s the identity Monty wants to build on this year. Nice to see.

Either they're really rusty, or we might actually make the playoffs.

Hopefully both. Both goals we scored were very Kari-like (and the empty netter was due to just an unbelievably lazy pass from that d-man... I really do think we could NFC East this thing if all these other teams keep playing like the Atlanta Thrashers.

Whatever, I’ll take it. 1. Scored the first goal. 2. Didn’t fall apart when the Wild tied it. 3. Finished it off in regulation.

Cogliano’s deflection reminded me of how rarely we see deflections from our forwards. I don’t play close enough attention to say for sure, but it seems like we’re relying entirely on shots from medium to long distances and hoping the goalie either whiffs or gives up a big rebound. Has to be a big rebound though, because we rarely have anyone parked in front of the net.

Looks like Oleksiak was the key to this thing.

I agree. Is it that most forwards aren't talented enough to actually deflect it or are they not looking for that play?

I feel like they’re not looking for it. I don’t really see lots of instances where guys are in front of the net trying to set screens or waiting for rebounds. It seems like all the forwards are always on the perimeter.

This. Stars rarely have anyone positioned close enough to effectively tip it.

When the scorings going wrong, you must tip it.

I really liked the speed and passing of the Hintz-Gurianov pairing. Gury had some deft passes in tight that we couldn't finish (but what else is new for this team).

The Russian judge only gave that line a 7.3.
