He drew one there trying to unsuccessfully stickhandle through two guys.

How do you not pull the goalie correctly?

A nice microcosm of the season.

There’s so much talk about leadership on this team and I think it’s a farce. They have a leadership group, really? It’s more like a leadership pyramid scheme. Buy your tickets, lol.

So not only do they lack secondary scoring, their big guns suck too. 0 for 6 on the PP? That's just *poo poo*.

I think the lack of competenceship is a much bigger problem than the leadership.

And all of those PPs let them pile up shots. Ten of them. It’s still such a static PP. They move the puck fine, but it’s from set spots. They aren’t making defenders move all that much.

They pretty much dominated a ridick Tampa team in every single facet of the game except for scoring and goaltending, which we all know are overrated.

A competency group would be genius! It might piss off the leadership group.

Boy. I can't wait for the 8-0 blowout loss on Thursday. We play the Kings on Thursday. The Kings are dead last in the conference, so this should be our worst game of the season.

No, we’re gonna win that one because Fabian Dickinson will be back. Win one for the Dicker.

wonko80 wrote:And my favorite bit... a comment of his article was someone asking why there weren't any quotes from Benn after the game since he's the captain and the reader was used to other markets (NY, Pitt) where the captain was always the one asked questions and giving quotes after games like this. Sean's answer:

Well Klingberg and Spezza do have letters on your jersey, but I can explain why Benn doesn't speak after every loss. After each game Stars PR will pull aside three players that have been requested by the media and when we get into the locker room those are the three available. We typically do not request Benn because he is a terrible interview and doesn't say anything worthwhile, often it's a waste of my time to talk to Benn when other players actually provide something that would give insight to what happened that evening.

That's the face of the franchise, folks. Benn may say he plays for the guys in the room, but he should also be aware he plays for the fans to essentially pay his salary. Give them nothing and at some point they'll stop being your fans.

Not really. The Stars play the Kings next who are dead last in the conference. Expect an effort that matches their opponent.

Watched some of the game - at first glance, Cogliano looks like an upgrade over Shore. He's very fast.

Cogliano may not contribute more offense, but he looks like more of what the team needs in terms of getting up ice and being able to pressure defenders.

One small detail that I noticed last night was that guys carrying the puck into the offensive zone would occasionally try to dance in towards the center instead of just dumping the puck in. Didn’t always work but at least it’s more interesting. A lot of Stars games feel like dump in practice with an occasional break for special teams play.

They had some decent zone time on the pp too. But, a lot of it was perimeter and there was no execution.
