Then having to hold on for dear life, managing only 2 shots on goal in the third. It is games like that which have to frustrate the hell out of Montgomery and the front office, despite the win.

Our troubles come from when we have success,” Dallas Stars head coach Jim Montgomery said after tonight’s inconsistent effort versus the Washington Capitals as he looks to another week-long road trip away from home ice. “We get way too comfortable and we have games like we did tonight. That’s the history of our season, and it’s really the history of the last three years. It’s not the road. It’s our mentality. We don’t change at the right times. Our shifts are too long. Anytime we face adversity, we don’t dig in. We take shortcuts. That’s why we’re an inconsistent hockey team.

Every team gives up more chances when they have a lead. I’d just like to see it be less extreme.

Surviving the late game push is part of winning, but it's usually more of a last five minutes thing and not 20 minutes.

Turns out you can turtle for an entire period and win when you have a goalie other than Kari.

Monty should be even more pissed about this victory. Bishop is the only reason they didn't lose 5-3.

It's just a feeling I get, but I think the Stars' Number One Cheerleader loves his team more than you do:

He’s just factually wrong there. Even homer boy razor was calling them out on the broadcast last night and not throwing out the tired excuse. The stars should have dominated that period. They did exactly the polar opposite and are lucky they even got a point.

If the blues hadn’t played the night before, it likely would have been an epic collapse.

The Blues really sucked for the first 30 minutes. I don't think they even had one real scoring chance until that little flurry after we went up 3-0.

But yeah, it seems once we get a lead, the whole team deflates.

I keep waiting for Montgomery to bust out a Brooks:
