Some team would take Spezza, it's his salary, even this close to the end of the season, that they will/can not take.

Some team with decent wingers who can bury the puck will take Spezza and he'll put up 15-25 points with them.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way...Right?
Most likely there will be a transaction or two with a couple of teams that no media or fans predicted. That’s the draw everybody is addicted to.

Florida is going to get two bites at this apple.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

It would be weird, but maybe the most sensible destination for Spezza would be Ottawa. If they end up trading both Stone and Duchene, they'll be below the cap floor, and could use an expensive replacement for those two guys.
Plus, Spezza could help then tank for next season (not this one, 'cause they traded their 1st to the *Dang ol'* Avs for Duchene).

I’d like to see him moved as well but all he has to do is put Ottawa on his 10 team no trade list to kibosh that one.

There are some nice forwards out there, but I have a feeling we’re gonna end up trading Julie to Detroit for Gus Nyquist.

And the NBA's salary cap and trade requirements are a hundred times more complicated than the NHL's.

I think there should be no salary cap at all. If an owner wants to overpay to get all the best players, they should be allowed to. It doesn't necessarily translate to success.

So, we have to trade Khudobin, right? He's the only piece we have that might have some value to another team.

Predators got Boyle for cheap.

Nashville is adding a second depth player. Clearly the additions of Cogliano and Oleksiak have them shook.

Is Boyle even worth a second round pick? I'm not sure how he helps them beat the Jets.

He’s better than over half our forwards so probably.

He's shooting at an abnormally high percentage this season (for him). So I doubt he pots much more than 3 goals in these last 30 games. Is that worth a 2nd? How is that even better than the guys they currently have on their roster?
Do the Perds think they need "grit" and "size" to compete with the Jets? Because, uh, the Jets are super-fast and can skate by guys like Boyle with zero issue, and nobody calls penalties in the playoffs so Boyle's main asset is pretty much nil.

Three goals also happens to be how many goals each second rounder currently playing on the Stars roster have scored.

Yeah 3 goals in the last few months would be a major uptick in production for most of our guys.

So by that logic Ritchie should fetch a 2nd.

Re: Trade Deadline Thread - 2019
Three goals is also more than the career total of most Stars second rounders.
