Some good players on that list. Probably tough to find the pieces to acquire some of them at this point, especially a young guy like Kapanen. Although, if the Stars were going to trade one of their two prospects with real value, getting a 22 year old like Kapenen is probably the better way to go.

If the Panthers are really looking to dump Hoffman because of salary concerns and trying to clear space for Panarin and Bobrovsky, then I wonder if Gurianov and/or Honka would be enticing. Both on cheap deals, both with "potential" (although markedly less so in Honka's case), and not trading within the division.

Look, I can't actually imagine Honka has any real value left outside of a throw in to a deal just to get a player off the Stars roster. Gurianov can be traded if it gets us someone who can actually score a goal by shooting the puck into the net.

I don't think Honka has any significant value. In all fairness to Honka, he has good hockey technical skills, he just absolute trash hockey IQ. But GM's do stupid *poo poo* all the time, and you know at least one thinks they can reclaim Honka. I don't think Honka on his own gets anything of value, but as a throw-in on a bigger deal, he's someone a GM for a selling team can sell as "hidden value" to their fanbase.

Stars can trade a lottery-protected 2035 1st-round pick for Hoffman.

I believe the NBA had to go add a rule limiting how many draft picks a team could trade after some Cleveland Cavs GM traded away a *poo poo* ton of consecutive 1st round picks for garbage leaving the team with no future at all. Though, I'm not sure how the rule works since the Mavs traded away their first round pick something like 18 of the past 20 seasons.

And Columbus continues to add dudes. It's going to be pretty neat to look at what draft picks the Jackets have left when the day is done.

And Vegas looks to be getting Stone from Ottawa.

After all of these trades, the Senators have to be sitting on the biggest pile of magic beans in the league.

Was the BJ's GM about to get fired or something? He's making sure his replacement has nothing.

Nill is also doing that, but not to that extreme. The New GM will still have his 2019 and 2020 firsts, but no 2nds or 3rds until the middle of the second Trump administration.

Still a little over 30 minutes to go, and most stuff doesn't get announced until right up until or after the deadline.

Columbus is doing the right thing. With Panarin about to walk, they know this is their best shot to do something in the playoffs. They have nothing to lose. I mean, they have been GMed conservatively for their entire existence and have jack *poo poo* to show for it.

Young guy for a less young guy. This one is interesting.

22 year old pending RFA traded for 26 year old with one year left before UFA.

That's pretty cheap if he's also signing an extension. The Sens got back one really good prospect, a salary dump, and a late 2nd rounder.

That Dreger tweet really confused me for a moment, I thought we were getting Stone.

Remember when we had Hanzal AND Spezza and were wondering how we could handle TWO second-line centers?

Good times.
