From what I can tell it turned into Jake Oettinger, Dillon Heatherington, and a year’s worth of Pateryn.

And also the 4th we got for Jordie got traded to LA for the rights to Ben Bishop. So basically a wasted trade.
Could of.

I want Zuccarello though.

Zuccarello has also been identified as a trade target for us.

I want Jeremy Roenick. Oh wait, this isn't 2001.

No Italian-Norwegians. They are the worst.

JR in his final season at age forty: 4G 9A 13P in 42 games

Nichuskin right now: 0G 7A 7P in 40 games

So he could conceivably double his output in as few as 17 years.

Overall, when you look at prices paid or received during many deadline deals, nothing was ever exchanged. That's because most picks and prospects never become anything. They're magic beans.

Using your extra 4th rounder to nab a Vezina-quality starting goalie is actually pretty impressive GMing. A+ on that one.

Sounds like the Predators are trading for Duchene.

Last night I was running a high fever, and kept dreaming about the Stars trading away Oleksiak in a massive 6-team, 12-player trade where they ended up with nothing. I was never able to focus on the other teams or players, but hot damn it felt SO REAL. When I got up this morning I checked to see if it had really gone down.

Hagelin to Capitals.

I thought he would be a nice fit here - fast and not too expensive.

The trade cost the Caps nothing, but Hagelin is having a terrible season.

But we already have fast and not too expensive in Comeau and Cogliano.

Cogliano is probably not the worst comparison when it comes to what Hagelin has become. Fast guy with no offense.

Either way, last thing the Stars need is another no finish winger.

I think they can do better with what might be available out there.

He's also having a terrible season on one of the worst teams in the league that's even slower than the Stars. He also has more points than all but 6 or 7 guys on the Stars.

At this point, I don't care if he actually tried to kill Karlsson. He's got 26 goals and 23 assists, and is under contract next year. Plus, his psycho girlfriend is hot.

Sounds like Duchene, Stone, and Dzingel are all available.

Stone / Duchene would be awesome, but Dzingel would be an excellent addition.

This also seems to mean Columbus is keeping Panarin and making a run at the playoffs. Good for them. That's the right thing to do. Panarin is worth more to them on a playoff run now than a pile of picks and prospects that will likely never amount to anything.

Best move for Ottawa too. Take two forward rentals off the table... maybe get more parts for Stone or Dzingel. Or whoever they decide to part with.
