Can we just claim breach of contract on Honka and Ritchie and fire them since we thought we were signing people who actually know how to play hockey?

Honka has talent, he's just playing with zero confidence, and he's too slow with the puck, so he looks like a deer in headlights. After he's traded for a late round pick, he'll develop into a quality player elsewhere. Ritchie is just too slow, if its skating, his shot release.

Honka is an interesting case. The ideal solution for the Stars would be to trade him for another player who needs the proverbial "change of scenery" as well. Probably not very likely though.

Where’s Robidas? I know, on his island :). Maybe he could come in and teach the undersized lad how to play defense somewhat acceptably.

Getting even someone else’s project player in return is a fantasy at this point. Once the D gets healthy, you’re flipping him for a 6th at best, if not just putting him on waivers.

Watching this team, at times, looks like the worst team in Dallas Stars history.

They're not the worst record-wise, but they certainly seem like the most uninspiring group we've seen. They're not even pesky!

Boy I've sure missed Hitchball. Our games have been way too exciting this year, it's time to cut that back a little bit.

If the Penguins can get Pearson for Hagelin straight up, surely we can get a project for Honka and Ritchie.

I gotta say I’m kind of impressed with our team defense considering we’re rolling out 3 AHL defenseman. There’s nothing glamorous about how the AHL guys play but they’re surprisingly reliable.

If your team can't score and allows two goals in overtime, the second goal should cost you the loser point.

Didn’t watch this one, but that image looks like a goal to me. Also looks like Edmonton needs to repaint their *fargin'* ice. They might have sealed it up sooner if their goal line wasn’t so fuzzy.

Did Spezza even play tonight? Honest question. The game log says he played 10 minutes, but I watched the whole game and I don’t recall seeing him or hearing his name.

I do recall hearing Spezza mentioned last night. Razor said something like “Spezza turned on the jets” and I remember thinking that it’s something you almost never hear about him anymore.

I know Montgomery was supposed to "open up" the Stars offense, but so far the on-ice results have been extremely Hitchcockian.

Gotta gagree, but we'll be running out of steam soon. When does Klingberg come back?

I thought the first Oil OT goal was good, but that break didn't matter in the end. But I'll happily take the point.

And Hitchcock was probably brimming with pride, for both teams.

Klingberg and Carrick are still several weeks away from returning. Methot is a question mark, but even if he gets back on the ice, it's only a matter of weeks before he's back IR. Johns is still nowhere near returning.

The truth is this AHL patchwork d is going to be the norm until closer to Christmas. It's also why Honka isn't going anywhere soon. They just need the body right now. Sure, when a couple of guys get back from injury, Honka will either go back to the pressbox or will be traded for a conditional Fudruckers gift card, but for now, he's going to stick around as the guy who will rotate in as Montgomerty tries to limp this things along.

But as nice as the defense is doing to keep goals against down, this team is just getting *fargin'* nothing from their big name big money forwards. Benn, Seguin, Radulov, and Spezza are giving them *fargin'* nothing. I don't care about chances or shots or corsi. If they aren't scoring goals, they are hurting the team. Right now, they are hurting the team.

The D situation is so bad that we are counting down the days until we can get Connor Carrick back.

This is exactly what's wrong. You can't have 2 0-0 games going into OT riding your back up in a weeks time. They have to do something about this offense.
